Celebrity Apprentice Is Back
Okay, okay, okay. As much as I hate most reality shows, there are a couple that I watch fairly regularly…and as much as I really wanted to hate this show, my son got me hooked on The Celebrity Apprentice when it first aired.
Yeah, I first tuned in to point and laugh at the contestants (isn’t that one reason to watch reality TV?), at Donald Trump’s hair-don’t, and at his gigantic ego. The show grew on me, though…I liked that they were playing for charity (realizing that for most of them it was also a chance to get some publicity for their flagging careers), and I was genuinely ticked when Trace Adkins lost in favor of Piers Morgan. Piers grew on me during the course of the show (I found myself agreeing with him more often than not) but I just liked Trace better, personally. But I’m over it now. I’m not bitter or anything.
Anyway. The celeb cast of the all-new show has been announced and here it is, tah-dah!

Tom Green
-
Dennis Rodman
-
Clint Black
-
Andrew Dice Clay
-
Professional poker player Annie Duke
-
LPGA golfer Natalie Gulbis
-
Figure skater Scott Hamilton
-
Jesse James
-
Professional suitcase holder Claudia Jordan (Deal Or No Deal?)
-
Khloe Kardashian
-
Brian McKnight
-
Joan Rivers
-
Melissa Rivers
-
Playboy bunny Brande Roderick
-
Former Dallas Cowboys running back Herschel Walker
-
T-Boz from TLC
Wow. I’m going to go out on a limb here and pick Clint Black or Scott Hamilton to take it, with Herschel Walker as a dark horse pick. You need a baddie, though, to spice up the final, so I’ll pick Andrew Dice Clay or Melissa Rivers to be one of the two finalists.
Look, it’s kind of like cotton candy…fluffy, airy, sugary, no true substance, but a bit of a guilty pleasure.
And at least OJ Simpson isn’t in the lineup!

The celebrity apprentice is not as good as when regular people are fighting for a job. I found the past show boring and will be passnig on the upcoming one.
Perhaps with the failing economy, and with aLL the money Trump has tied up in Real Esate….maybe Trump did not have a “job” to hand out at the end of the show for the other style show he had when he had regular “JOES” competeting for a position to work for him. He probably decided to go with celebs, as the prize I believe is for the winning celeb’s charity of their choice…. which is good for the charity… and it is also a HUGE tax write off for the Donald.

When will it be starting? It’s all good still. I think the celebrities are very brave to show up here!
It’s fun to see them in this atmosphere out of character and being themselves! The challenge is still the same. It’s a creative solution to not having The Apprentice at all.

According to this link, it might be some time in March, although I’m not totally sure when.
