For reals.  Osmarmy bin Loopy (wow, it’s been forever since I typed that!) is actually suing Jamie and Lynne Spears for, among other things, damaging his reputation:

Jamie and Lynne Spears have publicly blamed Lutfi for the series of emotional crises that led to the singer losing custody of her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline in 2007.

And now he is holding Spear’s parents responsible for damaging his reputation by allegedly leaking false information about his conduct to the press.

He has filed suit for compensation in a Los Angeles court, according to PerezHilton.com.

In a statement to the celebrity blogger, Lutfi’s lawyer Bryan Freedman says, “This lawsuit is being brought as a result of the defamation, ridicule and harassment of Sam Lutfi by Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears.

“A thorough investigation has revealed overwhelming evidence from independent witnesses, showing that Lynne Spears knowingly and maliciously publicized devastating false information about Lutfi, which destroyed his reputation, irreparably harmed his career, and subjected him to constant scorn and humiliation.”

Freedman goes on to allege Jamie and Lynne Spears are using Britney for her money, insisting the truth will all come out in court.

He adds, “At the time of the trial in this action, the jury will have an opportunity to weigh the credibility of the witnesses. In doing so, it will be faced with two threshold questions: Why would a supposedly loving mother write a tell all book about the sordid details of two of the most devastating nights of her daughter’s life and go on countless talk shows for her own profit? And why would a loving father who deems his daughter to be incompetent, thrust her into a massive world tour only to subject her to the very limelight that threatened to shatter her life, for something other than his own personal gain?

“The facts of this case will reveal Jamie and Lynne’s conduct in light of these questions. It will unequivocally explain the motivation of two people who are seemingly willing to destroy anyone and anything that gets in the way of their ability to control and profit from their daughter.”

The lawsuit comes less than a week after Britney was granted a temporary restraining order against Lutfi, his attorney Jon Eardley, and her ex-lover Adnan Ghalib.

Well, first, to sue for damaging his reputation he will have to prove he had a good reputation to damage.  Oh snap!

But, to be fair, there are a couple of good points made.  Lynne Spears seems to be intent on wringing every nickel she can out of both Britney and Jamie Lynn, and if she’s got to write a tell-all book to do it or stage a few “casual” photo ops or pimp out a few baby photos…well, that’s the price of fame.  Practically from the start, she’s let others make the decisions concerning Britney and what would best advance her career, and hasn’t been the protective parent that a teenage girl needs to have to help guide her though the turmoil of adolescence.  And Jamie, until recently, has had his own problems with alcohol, but he now seems to be clean and sober and ready to handle his daughter’s financial problems…but until that point, he did seem to be yet another leech hopping on Brit’s coattails.  They aren’t innocent in this little drama that has become Brit’s life…in fact, I believe they are more guilty than they will ever admit.

I don’t, however, believe that Jamie is the one pushing Brit into any sort of tour.  I think that the tour is Brit’s idea…remember, she’s at her happiest when she’s touring and performing.  It’s what she enjoys doing.  She sits in one spot too long and she starts to get stale, bored, and that’s when things start to go downhill for her.  It’s also often when her illness manifests itself in full, when she’s bored.  She lives for the adrenaline rush.  I don’t think she’s ready for touring just yet, though…I believe she needs a little more time to get herself in order first, and maybe Jamie needs to advise her to sit out for a while longer.  After all, this is still a very sick girl, appearances notwithstanding.  But while I think a tour right now might not be the best thing for Brit’s mental state, I don’t think Jamie is the one pushing her, I think she is pushing herself.

But let’s put that aside for a moment and think for a second.  When Brit was with Osmarmy, she was in the throes of a complete mental breakdown that, I believe, started long before she ever met him.  It’s been alleged that she deals with bipolar disorder, and when she was with him her symptoms were on display to the gawping public on a regular basis, sometimes several times a day.  She went to the store at all hours of the night, acting erratically at best.  She gave a performance on worldwide television where she sleepwalked through her dance routine and appeared drugged and ready to pass out.  She drove around aimlessly and recklessly, at one point almost driving off a steep road.  She locked herself in her bathroom with her youngest son and refused to come out.  She openly wept in front of paps while sitting on a sidewalk holding her dog in the middle of the night.  She lost physical custody of her two boys, and for a long time had no contact with them whatsoever.  Her eyes looked vacant, and she was bloated and lost and drugged out of her mind, allegedly for Osmegma bin Luftwaffe’s personal gain:

According to a declaration filed by Lynne Spears, on January 28, Lynne and Jamie arrived for an intervention — “Sam had told Britney that she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a whore, that she cares more about Adnan, her current boyfriend, than she cares about her kids, and that she does not deserve the kids.”

The documents claim Sam said “Adnan is gay…Britney came into the room looking for Adnan…Britney then asked me, ‘Is Adnan gay?’”

At one point Britney “picked up a bottle of pills and read part of the label and asked us, ‘What does insomnia mean?’ Sam told her that the pills will help her stay awake.” Lynne continues, “Sam told Jackie and me that he grinds up Britney’s pills, which were on the counter and included Risperdal (an anti-psychotic drug for schizophrenia and bipolarity) and Seroquel.” The docs continue, “He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could then give her drugs to heal her brain.”

According to the docs, Sam then encouraged Brit “to do tequila shots.” The document then claims Sam said, “let’s all do toasts with wine.” Brit refused to drink.

Lynne claims before leaving for the drug store that night, Sam gave her drugs upstairs “to make her more light-hearted, happy, and fun.”

During a dispute later that night, Sam allegedly said, “If you try to get ride of me, she’ll be dead and I’ll piss on her grave.”

The docs claim Brit “changed her three dogs’ clothes many times” in an agitated state.”

Brit said, “Can I see another psychiatrist so I can see my babies?” Sam responded, “If I told you to take 10 pills a day, you should do what I tell you to see your babies.”

Brit at one point allegedly said, “I want my Daddy up here. I want to talk to my Daddy.”

Since getting away from Osmegma and his minions and having conservatorship given to her father, she looks better than she has in a long time.  She’s released a new CD.  She’s back in shape.  Her finances are in order.  She’s regained some visitation with her sons.  Whatever medication she is on is the proper kind for her, is the right dosage, and is obviously helping her mentally.  All in all, while I think she still has a long way to go, she is only about eighty-seven bazillion times better than she was.  And while there is all kinds of blame to be spread around here, including on her parents (who I don’t think are the angels they want people to believe), I highly doubt that Sam Lufti only had Britney’s best interests at heart.

And I don’t believe that Osmarmy was the reason behind her breakdown, although I do think he was a catalyst.  The seeds of her (alleged) mental illness were sown years ago, and like so many who (allegedly) deal with bipolar disorder, she managed to cope with the symptoms for a while until they got too big and out of control to hide any longer.  Osmarmy happened to be in the right place at the right time, so to speak:

But other aspects of her demeanour were less easy to dismiss as humorous high jinks. One of her former business associates talks to me at length about Spears’s disquieting facial tics and obsessive-compulsive behaviour – characteristics that he says have been concealed from her fan base for several years. ‘I remember walking along the street with her and she had all these facial twitches, like head wobbles, that she couldn’t control,’ he says. ‘She will talk about hearing voices and have conversations with herself in weird languages and tell herself to shut up. It’s like she has multiple personalities. When you sit down with Britney, she’ll focus on you for two minutes at most. She’ll start jiggling her leg, then her hand will start tapping on the table, then she stands up and has to be somewhere else.’

She has also, I’m told, developed a phobia of people touching her, supposedly as a reaction to the constant pawing of obsessed fans. When I ask Ruben Garay, the founder of the now defunct World of Britney website, what her attitude is towards her fans, he pushes back his baseball cap and raises his eyebrows. ‘Britney has never really cared about her fans,’ he says, with a sigh. ‘We ran a competition on the website to meet with Britney Spears at her album launch party in LA [in November 2005]. It was all agreed with her management. We said that whoever won would have to fly themselves to California and, in the end, two guys flew in all the way from Ohio buying tickets on a maxed-out credit card.

‘On the evening, we were standing by the bar waiting for her. She comes in, walks right by and passes straight through us without saying a thing. It was unbelievable. I just thought: “Show some respect.” But she doesn’t give a sh*t about her fans. She thinks the world revolves around her, she’s very selfish, very self-absorbed and all that nice Southern girl shtick is total bullsh*t.’

But lest one believes that Osmarmy is truly hurt by the allegations made against him, one has to wonder if the fact that he has debt collectors riding his behind has anything to do with it:

According to documents obtained by TMZ, a lien was slapped on Lutfi’s condo back in April. Lutfi never paid the debt, which grew to $18,507.58 by November.

The lien was filed by a debt collection agency on behalf of the homeowner’s association where Lutfi has a condo.

According to docs, Lutfi has until February 10 to pay up or the condo could be forced into foreclosure.

And Lutfi has other financial issues. A bank that issued Sammy boy a Discover Card filed a lawsuit against him last month, claiming he owes $7,966.98.

Think about it…this time last year, Britney was in the hospital.
