Chris Brown Speaks Out Sort Of, Hints Rihanna To Blame For Beating

chris_brown2
Hey Kids, I am NOT a role model.

We can’t seem to keep up with all the Chris Brown/Rihanna beat down updates, as every minute passes there’s something new. But this little nugget caught our eye:

Disgraced R&B star Chris Brown has made his first statement following his alleged beating of superstar girlfriend Rihanna – he posted an update on his private Facebook page reading: “You’ll begin to see her true colors. Believe it!”

And it seems that the troubled singer has confirmed his split from the Barbadian beauty by changing his relationship status to ’single’.

Brown’s comment appears to suggest Rihanna, 20, is partly to blame for the alleged attack which left her with heavy bruising, scratches and bite marks.

I would offer Chris Brown, 19, the same advice I often give my children: sometimes it’s better to keep your mouth closed. This would serve him well. I honestly don’t care what Rihanna’s true colors are, because nothing could justify him hurting her, especially to the extent in which he did. Latest reports state it wasn’t the “Umbrella” singer who called police, but a witness who heard her screaming and witnessed the brutal attack which left Rihanna bloodied and beaten. Also compounding the horror of this story is Rihanna alleging Chris choked her so severely she blacked out briefly. Homeboy has some anger issues to say the least, but to even hint that Rihanna played any part in his violent behavior is beyond the pale.

Another report in the NYPost points to previous displays of violent behavior from the R&B star.

“He did have a very mean streak. He was very spoiled. If he didn’t get his way, he would fight a lot in school,” said Donelle Hawkins, who raised the singing sensation from ages 5 to 12.

“When his mom and dad separated, he got so angry he ran out to the car and took my whole stack of CDs and threw them into the woods like Frisbees,” he said.

Another time, Brown got “so angry he threw a shoe at me and hit me. It gave me a glimpse of his demeanor.”

Brown, 19, and Hawkins, 34, have long been estranged. In interviews, Brown accused Hawkins of physically abusing his mother.

“I hate him to this day,” Brown told Giant magazine in 2007.

Hawkins, who is blind and lives in a modest home outside Richmond with his new fiancée and her daughter, denied he ever raised a hand to Brown’s mother, Joyce.

“It’s an outright lie,” he said. “He’s a talented young man. He made a tragic mistake and needs to take responsibility. He is very bright. Now the focus point should be on getting help and stop pushing the blame on me or anyone else.”

Browns’ is temper apparently has gone unchecked for years.

In 2007, police were called to a Miami hotel room where he was staying because he was “screaming and throwing dishes,” according to Life & Style Weekly.

“He was fighting with his mom. Neighboring hotel guests alerted security and they came upstairs to the room, saw the broken dishes and the mess, and then asked his mother to leave the room. Police were then called, but charges were not filed as Chris simply paid the hotel bill and left the hotel,” the magazine quoted a source as saying.

This is a perfect illustration of the Glosslip Celebrity Theorem™ which states: any person exposed to the trappings of fame (ie. money, butt-kissers, lack of responsibility) at a young age has a 99.9% likelihood of becoming a complete a-hole.

And there you have it. If you are surrounded by people telling you how special you are and letting you buy your way of irresponsible behavior, there’s a pretty good chance you will do something incredibly stupid. Statistically speaking, this theorem is why this site even exists. Famous people do dumb things.

While the City of Los Angeles tries to figure out how they are going to let Chris Brown slide out this nasty predicament, Chris Brown may have bigger problems than jail. As we predicted here when this story first broke, Rihanna’s mentor and rap heavyweight Jay-Z is not “pleased” with Brown.

It was reported yesterday her mentor, superstar Jay-Z, is fuming over her treatment – and one of his buddies said “Chris is a walking dead man.”

Not sure if that’s literal, as in a Suge Knight kind of “walking dead man” way or as in a Rap Mogulesque “I will destroy his career” sort of way. I am hoping for the latter, we don’t need any more violence.

Even sadder, this may not be the first time Chris used Rhianna as a punching bag:

It may not be the first time Brown has gotten rough with the Barbados-born beauty. In December, friends said they noticed bruises on her neck and were concerned, Us Weekly reported.

“I asked if everything was OK with her and Chris,” a pal told the magazine. “She told me, ‘We broke up again.’ I didn’t pursue the issue further.”

Rihanna was forced to cancel yet another concert while she recovers from her injuries – this one slated for tonight in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Brown has already been dropped from his Wrigley Gum ad campaign and his “Milk, Does The Body Good” ads. And that’s not all:

News of the arrest has already hurt Brown’s marketability. He has been dumped from two ad campaigns and radio stations around the country are pulling his songs, like “Kiss, Kiss,” and “Forever,” out of rotation.

Maybe this is what Jay-Z insiders meant. Welcome to the world of irrelevance Chris. Don’t worry, you have a whole bunch of folks to keep you company.

God almight has his eye on all of us, people it’s time to be prayed up and thank god for what you have. Stop trying hurt one another. Remember what goes around, comes back around and whatever you do,you will have to answer to god one day.

  7. Right, and as we recall, O.J. stated in his tear-stained sob letter that Kardashian read on TV, that he was the abused spouse, not Nicole. :-p

  9. The sad thing is there will be so many who will excuse his behavior because he’s so cute, hot, talented, and stuff. He just got mad, she ticked him off, she pushed the wrong buttons, she fiddled with the lights in the middle of a scene. Any number of sad excuses which just gloss over the fact that he has a documented temper problem and this isn’t the first time he’s shown it. Or the second. Or the third.

One good way to judge how a man will treat a woman is to see how he treats his mother, and he threw dishes at her. He isn’t the first male celeb of late to fight with his momma, and then go on to show his butt later.

Flat out, there is no excuse for a man to hit a woman or for a woman to hit a man. Two people who supposedly care for each other and have respect for one another should never resort to that level of behavior.

  11. I would like to ask this, Why are we always judging when we don’t know the whole story? Now, if you or someone you know and love was in this situation, How would you like for others (the law) and people like yourself to judge you? I though so.

  13. There is no excuse for a spouse beating another especially a man there are many other was to handle situations(if the relationship is bringing that sort of anger LEAVE!!!). On the other hand i’m going to generalize now Rihanna is a BAJAN WOMAN, they can push u to the point, these are the most snorbish , high tempered, arrogant and jealous lovers in the Caribbean. If you cant live with them leave them no need to beat them.

  17. While NO ONE deserves to be hit … I wonder how innocent Rihanna is in this matter. It is not uncommon for women to hit men nowadays. Not to mention, where were her arms and hands that he was able to bite her. The whole story sounds like BOTH of them are partly at fault. I understand that men are innately stronger than women, but any woman that hits a man, should not be surprised if he hits her back. I will wait to hear BOTH sides before passing judgement, but as a woman, if she hit him, then she got what was coming to her.

  21. Hope Jay-Z does not get involved. Leave it to the due process of law. So far we are told that she has visible marks that show she was manhandled. She points to Chris Brown. If this is indeed true – and even if it may be true that she instigated it, either by her words/action – the code remains: No violence.

So better off for Chris to become a single boy again, apologise to her, family, country and world – take some anger management courses and tackle that issue now….before it gets to a point of no return. If he uses this episode as a wake-up call….he has a brilliant future ahead of him. he is only 19. He deserves a second chance.

  27. I truly appreciate the comment made by Gladys (Malaysia).

We are all humans and we make mistakes, as a woman I would never allow a man to hit me I would react in the same speed, but at the same time I would have to stop and think “why” what caused him to do what he did and help him seek the help that he need, that’s what the older generation would have done, hence the reason for relationships lasting longer in the old time days appose to now.

We are not God we can not pass judgment; we are all here to learn and most of the time we learn a lesson when we make the mistake.

Much love goes out to Rihanna my Caribbean neighbor, let go and let God.

Chris I admire your work, get close to God and you would find your way out of this hole you have dug yourself into, because with out God we are nothing.

  29. Just because he is the male, it should not be cut and dry, it ’s all his fault. We are all human and make mistakes. I don’t think we defend him because of looks or statues, but because, we feel we know him. When you get a feel of a person,it not easy to just change your mind about them without hearing them out first and understanding what really happened entirely. We all know what gossip can do, even if the story is not true. It is only fair to get the facts first. Because they are both so young and just starting out, this is a very sad situation. They are both in my prayers

  31. Eff chris brown! He’s a loser who doesn’t admit to his faults. He can have all the the talent in the world, but his career is over. I don’t care if Rihanna initiated the brawl, he’s an effed up individual. If Rihanna goes back with him, she’ll falter her career as well. I can’t see myself supporting a weak woman. I hope she’s recovering though.

  33. I think that everyone needs to chilll until the whole story is out. Chris is being smart by staying quiet until his court date. That’s were the story will play out. I think too “many women” play victim when they know they had a participating role in every action. That being said, “every action has a reaction” if you are bold enough to hit “any gender” then you are bold enough to receive in return. To what extent though? Jay Z should excuse himself from it and worry about himself. He didn’t like it when people commented on his court cases or his personal life either good or bad. So, back up willis! Lots of artists have had run in’s for worse accusations of “Murder” and rape yet everyone still puts them on a pedastal and sees them play basketball, and listen’s to their music i.e. R. Kelly, Jay z, Snoop Doggy Dog, TI, DMX, seriously let it take it’s course

  43. Too bad Chris Brown’s handlers haven’t convinced him and his family to shut their mouths. The ONLY statement Brown should be making is how sorry he is, and that there’s no excuse for his actions. Instead, he’s being a little punk and claiming Rihanna provoked him. Sounds like Ike & Tina Turner 2.0! Well, if history is repeating itself we can expect that like Ike Turner Chris Brown will become irrelevant, get in more scrapes with the law, and become a late night talk show punch line (no pun intended) while Rihanna goes on to be a symbol of beauty, talent, strength and determination for women around the world. If Brown wants to redeem himself he’ll accept responsibility for his actions and make a genuine effort to heal himself.

  47. Wow, thats a very bold statement for you to make that she “deserved” it… I take offense to that as a girl who has been in an abusive relationship, she/any female doesn’t deserve that!
Its his anger problem not hers. And even if she did cause something to happen or she hit him first, look how bad her results were. man are so much stronger than us so when we get it, we get it.
Rihanna– best wishes get better soon.
Chris– Get help your a good artist, but not fit for a relationship until your somewhat fixed
