Cleveland Adopts New Tourism Slogan: At Least We’re Not Detroit!
I have lived in Cleveland most of my life, and while that in itself could be seen as sad, it has taught me one thing, Clevelanders have a great sense of humor.
Making the internet rounds are two humorous videos set up to be made as “Cleveland Tourism” shorts, but in reality are poking fun at all the things that make this city great/suck. You know, like our burning river, our crippling depression and our atrocious lack of sunshine (seriously, there’s a song about the sun never shining in Cleveland!) In any case, local comedian Mike Polk does a great job of showing why people from Cleveland are cooler than those from anywhere else. Truth!
Just ask anyone who’s ever been to Cleveland. We’re like your homely friend with a great personality. And as Mike points out, at least we’re not Detroit. We’re NOT Detroit!

Dawn, during an NFL pre-game show (in which the Browns were playing) a commentator said “pople think Cleveland is a dreary town with no character. They are wrong. Its a dreary town with a lot of character!”

Exactly Jim, people here have a lot of great qualities and are always up for some fun and good times. Having suffered so many defeats over the years has helped make us stronger! Adversity builds character.

Holy Frickity Frack… that was AWESOME!
I’m so excited to now be an expert on Cleveland and am heading to the streets to tell everyone visiting Cleveland not to order the AIDS fish while waiting for their connecting flight to anywhere else.

“Adversity builds character.”
That’s it! These celebs (Kate and Jon; Kirstie, et al) have never suffered adversity thus they lack character, i.e. they are spoiled.
