Is Peaches Geldof Scientology’s Newest Victim? Or Just Pissing Off Her Dad?

Peaches Geldof A New Scientology Cultie?

Future Scientologist or Pissing Off Dad?

What is wrong with people? You would think that these stars (I use the term lightly in this case) would pick up a damn newspaper, read a book, or get online every once in a while to see what is going on in the world.

Peaches Geldof was recently seen coming out of the Scientology Celebrity Center in Ca. Which begs the question, is she really unaware that Scientology has been on trial in France, and there are currently SEVERAL lawsuits filed against them? Not to mention the recent, ever so damaging, St. Petersburg Times three parts series on Scientology which has Scientology’s cult leader plastered on the front page with testimonies from FOUR ex-Scientology top executives alleging all sorts of abuses. Wake the freak up girlfriend.

So one might ask…who the hell is Peaches Geldof anyway?

Peaches is England’s answer to Paris Hilton and daughter of Sir Bob Geldof, ex Boom Town Rats band and avid philanthropist (best known for founding Live Aid). For purposes of brevity, we’ll bypass going into her Dad’s views, activism, or anything else he did or did not do. This article is about Peaches.  So Bob Geldof lover/haters, please save your comments.

Back to the rotten Peaches. Ms. Geldof (recently divorced from musician Max Drummey after only 7 months) was spotted leaving the Celebrity Center with an armful of Scientology’s CRAP, proving not only is she is as daft as many in the media accuse her of being, but that she has NOT done her homework on Scientology whatsoever — or this was an elaborately planned PR stunt aimed at pissing off her Dad?

News Of The World thinks it was all a PR stunt:

“Then she popped along to the Scientology Celebrity Centre and left with loads of information. She said she was considering joining. But we think she just wants to p*** off her dad.”

Let’s hope this was a PR stunt. As wonderfully ironic as it would be to lose another rich snotty brat to a brainwashing cult (HELLO Bijou Phillips) a part of me hopes she went in to the Celebrity Center and gave the recruiters there a giant Scientology woody over the thought of her oodles of cash coming in their door, only to be DENIED!!!

Of course, the folks at Scientology are typically too dense to appreciate a practical joke, so no doubt they are falling all over themselves looking for a way to use her visit as PR for themselves.

But if it’s not a joke, we sure as hell hope her dad takes some time and gives his daughter a clue before it’s too late.

Peaches (pictured below) is shown holding the Scientology GARBAGE she left the Center with. Notice on the paper she is holding where it says “Celebrity Center Takes Care Of Those Who Entertain Fashion and Take Care of the World”  with a facsimile of founder L. Ron Hubbard’s signature.  Seriously, only the hopelessly arrogant or desperately lost would fall for this nonsense.

doc1

Yeah, they certainly do take care of their “cash cow” celebrities.  The “celeb” Scientologists get preferential treatment over public Scientologists, as well as, Scientology staff and the lowly Sea Org members. What other “church” has a celebrity center, or even brags about what ”church” members they have? Quite simply, NONE.

Maybe Peaches Will Be The First Celebrity Sea Orger!

Perhaps She Can Be The First Celebrity Sea Orger

Now, it was reported that her Dad has been listening to Father’s Rights campaigners, and was quoted as saying:

“I am heartbroken. I just cannot believe what happens to people, what is done to them in the name of the law.”

Wow, one can only imagine how heartbroken he’d be if he read up on what Scientology does to their own members in their quest to clear the planet.  Scientology’s family disconnection policies, and human rights abuses within their Sea Org  alone would be enough for Geldof to start with. Not to mention the amount of cash that Peaches would have to fork over. Perhaps he wasn’t aware of Peaches recent visit to the Scientology Celebrity Center due to the fact that they have been sort of on the outs.

Rumor has it, Peaches and her Dad had a falling out over some racy pictures that she posed for, as well as alleged drug abuse, which was the cause in her mother Paula Yates death (another riveting tale in an unto itself).  Sir Bob supposedly asked Peaches to pack her bags and go live on her own, which apparently she did. It is reported she now shuttles between the US and London, living at the Mayfair Hotel and has an apartment in NY and is also said to be house hunting in London. Geez, only twenty years old and already living like a rock star.

Regardless of any falling out that may have happened between Peaches and her Dad, he should be notified of Peaches recent lapse in judgment. Sir Bob, as bizarre a life as he has led, is said to be a very protective and hands on dad, which included him stepping in and adopting his ex-wife Paula’s daughter, Tiger Lily who was left parentless after both her mother and father (INXS singer, Michael Hutchence) died. Stepping in and saving people is what Bob does, so if you are listening Pappa Geldof, don’t lose your daughter to Scientology! It’s worse than you think.

The Sun reported as another publicity stunt:

After her marriage to rocker Max Drummey was recently exposed as a vehicle to boost their celebrity status, the Boomtown prat has been pictured leaving a Scientology Celebrity Center in New York.

According to documents placed in her bag, the centre claims to “take care of those who entertain, fashion and take care of the world”.
We’re struggling to work out how Peaches qualifies for any of the above.
Though at least somebody’s taking an interest in her.

A bit of history in the the wacky world of twenty year old Peaches Geldof…

Her full name is Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel  Vanessa Geldof. Boy that’s a mouthful and oh yeah it’s STUUUUPPID! Of course her sisters names are just as quirky: Fifi Trixibell and Pixie (although I think this name is cute) and don’t forget her half sister who has the same Mom, the late Paula Yates who died of a heroine overdose in 2000. Her half sister’s name is Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof. Tiger Lily’s father being the late Michael Hutchence of INXS band fame who died in 1997.

Peaches has dabbled in writing, TV show host, fashion design, a couple of reality shows and was signed to a SIX FIGURE modeling deal to become the face of the Miss Ultimo collection AND is also currently writing a fashion column for Nylon Magazine and doing a Brit TV show.

Peaches has been in the tabloids hanging with Paris Hilton (blech!) and dubbed a wild child. It was also just reported by Peaches via Twitter that she just had a sleep over with Courtey Love. Now that’s a whole other can of worms I am not going to get into. I don’t know which is worse, Courtney Love or Scientology. Of course Scientology wins, but only by a slim margin.

Sadly, Peaches also had a drug overdose last year, so I hope she gets her act together and stays sober, but palling around with Courtney Love or Scientology certainly won’t help matters.

In August if 2008, she married Max Drummey, a US musician of the Chester French Band, but by Feb. 2009, they called it quits.  Consider yourself spared Max!

Guess it’s time to remove the tattoos of each others names you guys got in Vegas? Nope, his name is part of her collection of tats now. She just added her OWN nickname Pinky to her wrist. Making that tattoo number twenty one for Peaches. Hmmm…do you think she going to regret some of these tats when she gets older?

According to tabloids, Peaches is apparently interested in seeing women at the moment. *Rolls eyes* Is this another experimental lesbian relationship gone tabloid for PR, or is this the real deal?  Calling Anne Heche!

Now I have don’t have any problems whatsoever with anyone’s sexual preference, in fact I embrace sexual freedom and same sex marriages, and always have. But these fly by night she-mances for PR purposes aimed to shockpeople make me sick, if that’s what this is. And considering Peaches track record of flaky behavior, nothing would surprise us.

Peaches and New Gal Pal

Peaches and New Gal Pal

I won’t bother to post the pics of Peaches locking lips with a girl, because, frankly, it’s just not shocking anymore, however, I am very concerned if she was serious about joining Scientology.

I hope SOMEONE, if not her dad, clues her in before she starts with their courses, their auditing, and before Scientology starts raping her wallet and her mind. Perhaps concerned readers can drop Sir Bob Geldof a line?

You can express your concerns not only to celebrities, but also your state legislators, the IRS on their tax exemption, heck, you could even drop Pres. Obama a line about Scientology’s crimes, insanity and ongoing abuses. The recruiting has to stop. If Bernie Madoff got 150 years in jail, so to should David Miscavige.

So please write some letters people, the pen can be a mighty sword.

Scientology’s Crimes And Abuses Are Finally Hitting The Fan

scientology-miscavige-tease

It is with a sense of awe and splendor Glosslip is reporting on what may be the most damaging coverage of the cult of Scientology ever written.

The St. Petersburg Times Newspaper unleashed a three part series, that must have cult leader David Miscavige popping veins in his head. This three part series is of such EPIC proportions, that we were only able to outline the stories and touch on a few of the most maligning accounts and testimonies given by four top ranking Scientology defectors. It would have taken pages and pages to tell the whole story and even more pages to include all of their quotes.

We will provide links to all three parts of this story directly to the SP Times, so you will be able to read the stories in their entirety.

The St. Petersburg Times has been a thorn in Scientology’s side since the cult first skulked into Clearwater over three decades ago. Dubbed by Scientology as The SP Times, as a derisive play on their own “SP” term, which stands for Suppressive Persons, the SP Times has continued to be one of the only mainstream media sources investigating Scientology’s continued abuses and shady activities.

In 1975, the Church of Scientology purchased the historic Fort Harrison Hotel under an assumed name and have maintained an overwhelming presence in Clearwater, buying up land and setting up shops in the seaside town.

Residents of Clearwater watched their own town slowly being taken over by Scientology and the cult has been sucking up real estate like a vacuum, and thankfully the SP Times has been reporting their every move. But this time around, people seem to be finally listening. This story is being covered globally and in all facets of the media.

Although Scientology has tried numerous times to squash The SP Times in the past, their latest series of articles written by hero staff writers Joe Child and Thomas Tobin reveal an even more damaging look into the cult of Scientology that has never been reported before by a mainstream outlet. So damaging are the allegations many critics are wondering if Scientology will survive this huge blow.

The SP Times were successful in securing interviews with four top exec Scientology defectors. Much of what they revealed is a reaffirmation of rumoured abuses that have been circulating for years, but with their testimony, give a new urgency and credibility to these audacious and harrowing accounts. These revelations are pointedly attacking Scientology cult leader David Miscavige (Tom Cruise’s bestman at Cruise’s wedding), who has managed to slink under the radar for far too long. Not since the death of Lisa McPherson in 1995, has Scientology’s been under such deep scrutiny and these four high profile defectors, Mike Rinder, Marty Rathbun, Tom DeVocht and Amy Scobee’s testimonies, may be the final threat to drive the cult into the ground OR an even worse alternative, underground.

Part one of the series deals mostly with reported beatings of staff members. The defectors claimed they witnessed church leader David Miscavige beating several members many times over the course of many years, with the beatings becoming more severe and widespread as the behavior became accepted as the norm. We also included a bizarre account of Sea Org members, dressed in their quasi-military uniforms, who were forced to play a perverse game of musical chairs to the tune of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” This elaborate, but twisted game was conceived by cult leader Miscavige as a means to prove his members loyalty. Whomever was unable to get a chair, were met with the threat of being shipped off to distant countries and disconnected from their families. David Miscavige’s sadistic game of having control over his minions gives real insight into the mind of Scientology’s enigmatic leader. It’s no exaggeration to suggest any evil dictator throughout history would have been proud of Miscaviges craven tyranny.

Part two of the series, deals mostly with the cover up of the death of Lisa McPherson, which we will discuss later in this post.

The third and final part of the comprehensive series was a wrap up of the testimonies and dealt with the “overboarding” which was used as punishment within their Sea Org.

Over Boarding Off The Apolllo Ship

Actual Picture Of OverBoarding

Overboarding is when someone gets thrown in a pool or lake as a punishment. This punishment started back in 1968 and was ordered by founder L. Ron Hubbard himself. Sea Org members were thrown right into the ocean off any of the three ships that Hubbard owned. Depending on the severity of the punishment, different decks in varying heights, were used. Some decks being 25 feet from the water’s surface below. Even when the Sea Org moved on to land, this punishment still continued.

Below are the four defectors at the center of this stunning investigation.
rind

Mike Rinder, was top lieutenant in the Sea Org (Scientology’s fake navy). Rinder left Scientology two years ago, but had been a member since he was 18 years old.

rath

Marty Rathbun-was a top lieutenant and in Scientology for 27 years. Marty, perhaps unable to truly disconnect from the emotional attachment to his former “faith,” still practices Scientology today and still offers auditing in his home.

Tom DeVocht

Tom DeVocht, third from the left, oversaw the church’s spiritual headquarters in Clearwater and was vice president of real estate and construction for the cult. He was in for 28 years, and left with a “free loader debt” of owing the cult $98,000.00 of which he thankfully has not paid them one dime. Free loader debt is money owed to the cult for courses taken, which they will try to collect from you once you leave.

amy1

Amy Scobee was a top exec who helped create Scientology’s celebrity network and worked for the cult for more than 25 years, joined the Sea Org when she was just 16 years old.

These defectors were quoted as saying:

“the leader established a culture that encouraged physical violence.”

A video compiled by the SP Times features interview with Marty Rathburn and Amy Scobee who talk about the violence and beatings doled out by David Miscavige, and in a nutshell what this news breaking three part series uncovers. Click here to watch.

Scientology also plans on opening up the private files of these four defectors, which are supposed to be confidential and only for the church’s eyes. These well-guarded files chronicle EVERY Scientology member during their Scientology auditing sessions on the e-meter. Lawyers and spokespeople claim that these files will divulge comments from these defectors which will clear the cult. But it will also in turn finally prove that Scientology will use member’s private files to blackmail people. One also has to ask if the cult is doing this to set an example and to curtail any more defectors from speaking out?

If that’s the case, I say open up the files on all members who have defected and files on all top execs and put all the cards on the table. Of course I refer to files that haven’t been doctored up by the cult.

A list of what defectors revealed:

• Physical violence permeated Scientology’s international management team. Miscavige set the tone, routinely attacking his lieutenants. Rinder says the leader attacked him some 50 times.

Rathbun, Rinder and De Vocht admit that they, too, attacked their colleagues, to demonstrate loyalty to Miscavige and prove their mettle.

• Staffers are disciplined and controlled by a multi layered system of “ecclesiastical justice.” It includes publicly confessing sins and crimes to a group of peers, being ordered to jump into a pool fully clothed, facing embarrassing “security checks” or, worse, being isolated as a “suppressive person.”

At the pinnacle of the hierarchy, Miscavigecommands such power that managers follow his orders, however bizarre, with lemming-like obedience.

• Church staffers covered up how they botched the care of Lisa McPherson, a Scientologist who died after they held her 17 days in isolation at Clearwater’s Fort Harrison Hotel.

Rathbun, who Miscavigeput in charge of dealing with the fallout from the case, admits that he ordered the destruction of incriminating evidence. He and others also reveal that Miscavige made an embarrassing miscalculation on McPherson’s Scientology counseling.

• With Miscavige calling the shots and Rathbun among those at his side, the church muscled the IRS into granting Scientology tax-exempt status. Offering fresh perspective on one of the church’s crowning moments, Rathbun details an extraordinary campaign of public pressure backed by thousands of lawsuits.

• To prop up revenues, Miscavige has turned to long-time parishioners, urging them to buy material that the church markets as must-have, improved sacred scripture.

For a more detailed look into each defector, click here. They also told how they left the cult and just how difficult it was.

Cult lawyers (Monique Yingling) and cult Spokesperson Tommy Davis are of course crying character assassination of cult leader David Miscavige:

That’s what the defectors are doing to Miscavige, according to a team of two church lawyers and two spokesmen.

Rathbun, Rinder, De Vocht and Scobee: All of them failed at their jobs, broke Sea Org rules and were ethically suspect, the team said. Stack these four failures against a man of Miscavige’s stature and it’s clear who is credible and who is not.

“It’s not a question of they have a version and we have a version. It’s that this never happened,” said Monique Yingling, a non-Scientologist lawyer who has represented the church for more than 20 years. “There is a story here, and it’s not what you’ve been told.”

Here is an audio recording from one of MANY posted on YouTube, where you can hear cult spokesperson Tommy Davis completely losing it while talking about defector Marty Rathbun, and shows his psychotic side defending David Miscavige when interviewed by Joe Childs from the SP Times, at one point, even demanding Joe to look at him.

Cult Spokesperson Tommy Davis Son of Actress Anne Archer

Cult Spokesperson Tommy Davis Son of Actress Anne Archer

I am incredulous that anyone would consider Tommy Davis’ claims reliable when defending cult leader David Miscavige, considering Davis wasn’t present for any of the occurrences in which the four defectors witnessed. Clearly Davis can only be going by what he was told by Miscavige and Miscavige, like his mentor L. Ron Hubbard, was a well-known prevaricating charlatan. Even more perplexing, is Davis does admit there were beatings, and that there are several witnesses who can verify what he is saying, but none of course, implicating Miscavige. Rathbun already admitted he beat people under the orders of Miscavige, so my question is, if all these beatings were going on over the years, which according to Davis were up to 50 times, why did this go unreported? Is this acceptable behavior of this “church”, or any church for that matter?

And another telling part of the audio tape, is Davis lists other critic’s names and he states that they all are claiming the same story. This shows that ALL critics witnessed the same occurrences of abuse, corruption, mind control and this makes their stories even more credible from my perspective. How can so many individuals who are willing to speak out, all claiming the SAME story, who have witnessed the same behavior on several different occasions, be not credible? Mind boggling.

And what of the Lisa McPherson case?

Rathbun spoke about the case at length with the SP Times, and one quote in particular thoroughly sums up the way Lisa McPherson was handled:

“It was a “perfect storm of incompetence and irresponsibility” within the church, he said. “You couldn’t justify it.’’

But wait, there’s more…

Church of Scientology Goes On The Defensive, Reveals Tactics Used To Control Staff, Members

scientology_miscavige

Scientology’s last remaining sentries are trying desperately to discredit the disturbing, illegal, and immoral allegations being lodged by ex high-ranking officials who’ve finally agreed to speak out against the Church’s leader David Miscavige, but in doing so, the Church is also revealing their own twisted and warped process of terror.

When I first began investigating the Church of Scientology I was overwhelmed with information. The hierarchy and structure of the organization is designed with deception and prevarication at its core. A side effect one might suggest from running an organization designed solely to dupe followers out of large sums of money. When running a ponzi scheme of this magnitude, it’s essential to keep people in line and in check, and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard and later sucessor David Miscavige, used fear, manipulation and psychological and physical intimidation to keep staffers close and “on board” with the game plan. And the game plan was to create a world dominate organization which dispensed pseudo-spirituality, while creating billions and billions in profit.

Two names which surfaced time and time again as I researched and spoke with critics and ex-members alike were Miscavige’s high-ranking cronies, Mike Rinder and Marty Rathbun. When I asked my most inside sources how to track these folks down, I was hit with “no way, they will never talk, they know too much and were too deeply entrenched in the most nefarious of Scientology’s illegal actions.”

Time has changed since then, and now with the safety of numbers in their favor and perhaps an internal need to right their wrongs, these two men are speaking out, and even more telling is Scientology’s official response to their heady allegations against Miscavige and Scientology.

From the St. Petersburg Times:

This account comes from executives who for decades were key figures in Scientology’s powerful inner circle. Marty Rathbun and Mike Rinder, the highest-ranking executives to leave the church, are speaking out for the first time….

Rinder and Rathbun speak:

Now they provide an unprecedented look inside the upper reaches of the tightly controlled organization. They reveal:

• Physical violence permeated Scientology’s international management team. Miscavige set the tone, routinely attacking his lieutenants. Rinder says the leader attacked him some 50 times.

Rathbun, Rinder and De Vocht admit that they, too, attacked their colleagues, to demonstrate loyalty to Miscavige and prove their mettle.

• Staffers are disciplined and controlled by a multilayered system of “ecclesiastical justice.” It includes publicly confessing sins and crimes to a group of peers, being ordered to jump into a pool fully clothed, facing embarrassing “security checks” or, worse, being isolated as a “suppressive person.”

At the pinnacle of the hierarchy, Miscavige commands such power that managers follow his orders, however bizarre, with lemming-like obedience.

• Church staffers covered up how they botched the care of Lisa McPherson, a Scientologist who died after they held her 17 days in isolation at Clearwater’s Fort Harrison Hotel.

Rathbun, who Miscavige put in charge of dealing with the fallout from the case, admits that he ordered the destruction of incriminating evidence.

Church officials deny the accusations. Miscavige never hit a single church staffer, not once, they said.

On May 13, the Times asked to interview Miscavige, in person or by phone, and renewed the request repeatedly the past five weeks. Church officials said Miscavige’s schedule would not permit an interview before July.

At 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Miscavige e-mailed the Times to protest the newspaper’s decision to publish instead of waiting until he was available. His letter said he would produce information “annihilating the credibility” of the defectors. Beloved by millions of Scientologists, church spokesmen say, Miscavige has guided the church through a quarter-century of growth.

Scientology’s response:

The church says that Rinder, Scientology’s top spokesman for decades, is an inveterate liar. In its ethics files, the church says, Rinder admits that he lied 43 times over the years.

“It was a real problem, Mike’s propensity to lie ….Obviously he had an issue with the truth,” said Davis, Rinder’s successor as spokesman.

After denying Miscavige hit him or anyone else, Rinder is lying now, Yingling said. “He left because he was demoted … He is bitter now and he has in his bitterness latched on to the one allegation he so vehemently denied for so many years.”

Added Davis: “One of the things he was known for saying was, ‘Well, if I’m so bad, why keep asking me to do things?’ You know the answer to that question?… The ultimate answer to that question is ‘Mike, you know what, you’re right. Why keep asking.’ And we stopped asking. And then he left and nobody came for him.”

Like the other defectors, Rinder says he’s sure he wrote whatever is in the ethics files, but he says the admissions are meaningless, they were just whatever his superiors wanted to hear. “All of these things were written to try and get into good graces or curry favor.”

Davis said Rinder has not been able to deal with his fall from spokesman for an international church to his current, workaday job.

“Mike left. I think we can all agree he is bitter,” Davis said. “This is a guy who ran with the big dogs in the tall grass … it’s a very exciting life. And now he is selling cars, and it must be a hell of a shock.”

The church released numerous pages of files it kept on Rathbun. Among them: a 1994 letter that said he had completed a Truth Rundown — one of many types of confessionals — and apologizing for leaving the church briefly the year before; three confessions for striking and verbally abusing staff dozens of times; and documents where he admits that he mishandled situations.

In a 2003 document, Rathbun writes a “public announcement” detailing two decades of flubs, including: making himself out to be more important than he was, making more work for Miscavige, mismanaging staff and messing up major assignments, including the church’s long-running battle with the IRS.

Rathbun says he wrote what Miscavige wanted to hear.

The church made special note of an affidavit dated June 6, 2009 — after the Times asked the church about Rathbun — authored by a Sea Org member whose name the church blacked out. She criticized Rathbun for being violent and abusive and playing a role in her family’s recent effort to wrest her out of Scientology.

Rathbun says yes, he tried to help the family, because the woman voiced strong doubts about returning to Scientology.

Like De Vocht’s, many of Rathbun’s confessions are marked by bountiful praise of Miscavige. He writes, for example, that the leader “single-handedly salvaged Scientology.”

Scientology’s international management cadre lives and works on the church’s 500-acre compound in the arid hills opposite Mount San Jacinto from Palm Springs.

Rathbun orchestrated a “reign of terror” there in 2002 and 2003, church representatives say, masquerading as an ethics officer while Miscavige was in Clearwater handling legal and other matters. They say the leader returned in late 2003, summarily demoted Rathbun and began to clean up his mess.

Rathbun says he was away from the base for almost all of 2002 and 2003, handling lawsuits and other sensitive matters at Miscavige’s behest. When he returned to the base in late 2003, he said, it was Miscavige who had established a “reign of terror.”

The church said Rathbun has inflated his importance in Scientology; they say that after 1993, he never had a title.

But in a 1998 Scientology magazine, Rathbun is featured as the main speaker at a major event at Ruth Eckerd Hall attended by 3,000 Scientologists. The magazine said he was “inspector general” of the entity charged with safeguarding Scientology. Also, the church provided the Times a court document from March 2000 that listed Rathbun as a “director” of the same entity.

If Rathbun’s responsibility was as limited as the church says, the Times asked, how did he get people to submit to a reign of terror? Davis, the church spokesman, erupted.

“He’s the one who’s saying that Dave Miscavige beat these people,” Davis screamed. “And he’s saying that Dave Miscavige beat the exact same people that he beat. And that’s what pisses me off. Because this guy’s a f—— lunatic and I don’t have to explain how or why he became one or how it was allowable.

“The fact is he’s saying David Miscavige did what he did … And now I’m getting a little angry. Am I angry at you? Not necessarily. But I’m g– d— pissed at Marty Rathbun. Because he knows that he was the reign of terror.”

I am only pasting partial excerpts from Part 1 of the series to illustrate what is so obvious to those looking from the outside in. Scientology, despite being run by an evil genius, can no longer continue to defend itself. It’s defectors, risking incriminating themselves for heinous crimes, are coming out and saying “Yes, these events happened. I witnessed them and yes, I took part in them.” Even more ironic, those of us who’ve followed the unraveling have heard these stories retold many times by lesser ranking individuals, and in fact, I have interviewed several of the people who were abused themselves, including Jeff Hawkins, Marc Headley and Maureen Bolstad. Sadly, the stories of abuse are not new to me, but the level of individuals coming forward to lend credibility are monumentally important.

Miscavige’s mouth-piece, Tommy Davis, already known for having a hair-trigger temper and a face which buckles under the weight of his own lies, may finally break down and completely lose it. No one man, despite his fervent loyality, can withstand the pressure of keeping this many lies straight. If men like Rinder and Rathbun are willing to come forward and take responsibility for their part in abusing members and breaking the law, there is virtually NOTHING Miscavige, Davis or Scientology’s billions in ill-gotten gains can do to prevent the flow of truth from spewing forward.

From my perspective, it’s all over but the crying.

Stay tuned for more on this story.

Scientology Finally Getting The Negative Exposure It So Rightly Deserves

This is just a brief update to let readers know THEY MUST GO READ this riveting expose on the Church of Scientology and church leader David Miscavige’s violent reign of terror. The St. Petersburg Times did an in depth, scathing and forensic investigation into the cult of the stars.

The Church of Scientology has been a target of this site since we first discovered the Anonymous vs. Scientology video in early 2008. Beginning with the leaking of a Scientology propaganda video featuring Tom Cruise and the simultaneous release of Andrew Morton’s searing unauthorized biography on the film star, Scientology has been under the microscope of several media outlets, as well as the concentrated target of an internet based activist group calling themselves Anonymous.

The past 18 months since this exposure began, cracks have been surfacing within the Church of Scientology and its tightly controlled PR and many who’ve closely watched this unraveling felt certain that this was the beginning of the end of an era of terror, financial and spiritual abuses at the hands of Miscavige and Scientology subordinates.

We will be going over the 3-part expose by the STP Times, but we encourage you to check it out yourself. Also of interest, is Glosslip’s series of articles and first-person interviews with ex-Scientologists on our Glosslip Radio segment at BlogTalkRadio.

More coverage coming soon as we delve deeper into this ground-breaking investigative series.

John Travolta Admits Son Jett Suffered From Autism

john-travolta-jett

A still grieving (and rightfully so) John Travolta has been keeping a low profile these days, despite a major promotional push for his new film with Denzel Washington, Taking Of Pelham 1-2-3.

Travolta whose son Jett died January 2nd, while the family was vacationing in the Bahamas, has had a very rough time dealing with his son’s death, including taking a brief and solo hiatus to Tahiti a few weeks back simply to get away and grieve in private. No parent should ever have to suffer losing their child, and Jett who was only 16, was clearly very loved by his family.

In the wake of Jett’s death, there were many questions about the events which led to his untimely death, which is believed to have been caused by a massive seizure and possibly resulting injuries sustained during the attack. John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston are very public members of the Church of Scientology and unfortunately Scientology frowns on medications which are often used to treat ailments which might result in seizures.

Some critics of Scientology believe Jett suffered from autism, which can be a debilitating disease which often affects one’s ability to express emotions and communicate. A tragic side effect to autism are increasingly violent seizures which must be carefully controlled with anti-seizure medication. While the Travolta family at times did treat Jett with these life-saving drugs, they were likely pressured to avoid giving them to their son due to a very strict anti-psychotic drug policy within Scientology — which by the way, does not recognize autism as a “real” condition.

Until this latest document, exposed by the National Enquirer, the Travolta family had denied Jett suffered from the disease, and instead had stuck with a story they created years ago, which stated Jett was suffering from Kawasaki’s Disease. Those in the medical community have refuted their claims that Jett’s symptoms could be caused by this rare childhood virus.

Here’s what the NE found (photo of document included:

The ENQUIRER has obtained John Travolta’s statement to police, which reveals for the first time, in his own words, how he bravely battled to save his dying 16-year-old son. Jett.

The document is a dramatic never-before-seen minute-by-minute account of the crisis, in which the star appears to have done everything he could to bring his son back to life.

In the three-page document signed by Travolta, the Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 star acknowledges that his son was autistic.

The autism disclosure adds to the family’s previous claims that Jett suffered from Kawasaki disease, a rare illness that affects the blood vessels in young children. Travolta is a leading Scientologist, and Scientology doesn’t always agree with autism as a diagnosis.

Travolta divulged the details of Jett’s final minutes in an official interview with the Royal Bahamas Police at the Central Detective Unit in Nassau on Feb. 25.

None of this should surprise anyone who followed this story before and after Jett’s death, but it confirms a well-kept secret the Travolta family was likely pressured into keeping for all these years, quite likely from Scientology officials.

Or in other words, how can a high-profile celebrity Scientologist admit their child is suffering from a disease that doesn’t exist, and worse yet, how can they be allowed to effectively treat their child, when lower level members are told NO WAY to these live-saving drugs.

The Travolta’s are in a Catch-22 here, damned if they do, damned if they don’t. I also have a theory about some of what we are seeing happening to John. While this is only my theory, I feel pretty strongly about it.

There have long been reports about John Travolta being trapped in the cult because of secrets they may have relating to his sexual past which could, in theory, hurt his movie career. Because of Scientology’s firm hold on those in its grips, John has been forced to live a duplicitous life, including the treatment of his beloved son. I feel strongly that John is doing some MAJOR soul-searching and perhaps, dare I say, weighing his options.

If John left the cult, it might be a bit difficult at first, but he would likely find himself a real hero to the public, which is becoming increasingly aware of the abuses of Scientology. Sometimes losing a loved one, especially if you could have saved them, can cause a person to rethink their place in the world.

So John, if you are thinking of stepping off the bridge, but are afraid to, please don’t be. Whatever the CoS has on you is NOTHING compared to what they’ve done to you, and I can assure you the world outside will welcome you with open arms. Jason Beghe left, Nicole Kidman left and so can you. You and Jett are in our thoughts John.

(many thanks to the alert critic who sent me this story)

Scientologist Kate Ceberano Welcomes Katie Holmes To Australia With Open Arms

Yay! Katie Is Coming to Australia!

Yay! Katie Is Coming to Australia!

Australian pop star, Dancing With The Stars winner in 2007, and raging OTV Scientologist Kate Ceberano will be welcoming Katie Holmes to Australia with open arms.

Katie and Suri will be moving to Melbourne for four months, so Katie can film Who’s Afraid Of The Dark.  No word yet if Tom will be joining.

So what about this Kate Ceberano? According to Wikipedia Ceberano’s whole family is in Scientology, so sadly she was born into Scientology without a choice:

Kate is a third-generation member of the Church of Scientology in Australia, her grandmother having once been employed as a  governess for L. Ron Hubbard’s children. She retains close family ties, working closely with her mother Cherie Ceberano, her brother (guitarist Phil) and her husband (film-maker Lee Rogers).

Yikes, I bet her Granny had some CRAZY stories to tell about her gig with Hubbard! Scientology records shows that Kate has sailed on the asbestos-laden Scientology-owned cruise ship, the Freewinds, twice in 2001. We hope she is ok and seeks a doctor’s care. She also sang at Tom Cruise’s birthday party.

A little more on Kate…she has five platinum albums, four Gold albums and over 1 million albums sold in Australia. Kate owns a chihuahua which was supposedly given to her by felllow Scientologist Kirstie Alley. Ceberano’s chosen charity for Dancing with The Stars, was the Breast Cancer Foundation, (Ceberano is the Victorian Ambassador for the National Breast Cancer Foundation) so kudos to Kate for making a good choice there.

She is also spokesperson for Platex lingerie.  What a busy gal!

Her entire family is also in Scientology, but yet her website does not mention Scientology one iota, with the exception of links to Artists For Human Rights and Youth For Human Rights, which are BLATANT Scientology front groups.
Oh…well, there ya go.

Also a bit quirky, in 1992 she played Mary Magdalene in an Australian rendition of Jesus Christ Superstar. We found this especially “quirky” do to the fact that Scientology cult founder L. Ron Hubbard was quoted as saying there was “no Christ” and the Christianity concept was an alien implant. You can hear it for yourself by listening to actual L. Ron Hubbard sound bites.

In Hubbard’s own words:

“The man on the cross. There was no Christ.”
“Assists” lecture, #10 in the confidential Class VIII series of lectures (3 October 1968)

The part of Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, required Kate to sing I Don’t Know How To Love Him Perhaps she was singing about Scientology “savior” (using the term VERY loosely) L. Ron Hubbard instead? Ewww…

katelive2009

The Daily Telegrpah wrote:

SINGING Scientologist Kate Ceberano is hoping for a gathering of church clans and the next generation of the chapter when Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise hit Melbourne this month.

While Tom Cruise is yet to officially confirm he will come to Sydney, Holmes and Suri, 3, are expected when Holmes arrives to film horror flick Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark.

And Ceberano wants to catch up with her old church-mate Cruise - and would like to introduce her daughter Gypsy, 5, to Suri.

“I’d love to meet her (Katie) properly. They are Mr. and Mrs. America. They are great people and it will be lovely for Melbourne to be able to have that interaction with these kinds of people,” she said. And if Gypsy met Suri?

“Wouldn’t that be magic and fun? Let’s get them in town..”

Wow Kate, where do I start? “Mr and Mrs America”?” It would be lovely for Melbourne to have interaction with these kinds of people?” “Magic and fun?”

WTF?  It sounds like 80’s magician Doug Henning is coming to visit Kate.

doug

Now I have heard TomKat called MANY things… but Mr. and Mrs. America? OH COME ON KATE! PUKE!

A couple of things I WILL be grateful for about this move to Melbourne, is that Suri gets to play with Kate’s daughter Gypsy, and Katie gets some alone time away from Tom.
It was recently reported that Suri is not allowed to play with other WOG children. What’s a wog you say?

A little help from Wikipedia (sorry Scientology, can’t edit it any more!):

Amongst Scientologists, wog is used as a disparaging word for non-scientologists. Scientology’s founder L. Ron Hubbard defined wog as a “common, everyday garden-variety humanoid…He ‘is’ a body. [He] doesn’t know he’s there, etc. He isn’t there as a spirit at all. He is not operating as a thetan. The term comes from ‘Worthy Oriental Gentleman’, from the days of the British in Egypt.

L. Ron Hubbard employed the term frequently in his lectures and writings. You’ll find out most people, wog people have mock-ups which are two-dimensional” — “Creative Admiration Processing” lecture, 10 January 1953

“We’re making a new [society]. So let’s skip the approval button from a lot of wogs and settle down to work to make new people and better people.” — HCOPL 26 May 1961

“We work in a jungle of noncompliance and false reports called the wog world.” — HCOPL 5 Jan 1968

So…back to Australia…perhaps Katie getting away from Tom for a bit and hopefully, some much needed space.

Looks like she will have to phone in her weekly confessions  to Tom, instead of writing them down during her stay in Australia. Ouch! That’s going to be quite the phone bill. Eh! They can afford it.

And Suri? It was reported that Suri’s interactions with non-Scientology kids was frowned on by Tom and Katie. Now I don’t know how accurate this story was, as it has of course been reported that she has played with other non-Scientology children before, for instance, Shiloh Jolie and their close friends, the Beckham’s children, so who knows for sure.

Bild.com and many other sites, who reported the story also said that Suri mostly plays and talks with her dolls. Now that’s just SAD. I don’t care if Tomkat bought Suri a Barbie Scientology Celebrity complete with a mini e-Meter, if this is true, it is beyond cruel.

Suri is probably asking her dolls….  Can you get me outta here?

Can You Help Me Get Outta Here?

Can You Help Me Get Outta Here?

Here is the story from Bild.com:

Suri Cruise is not allowed to socialise with non-Scientologist children. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are reportedly reluctant to let their three-year-old daughter play with other kids, even those in her two dance classes. A source told the ‘Star’: “She never hangs out with her dance friends before or after class. Her mom takes her and waits in the lobby during class. Then their entourage whisk her away again. They prefer Suri not to hang out with other kids unless they’re Scientologists. And she doesn’t have many play dates with children and is happy just spending time talking to her dolls as though she is their adult nanny.”

So let’s hope that Katie, as well as Suri, gets more out of Australia than just auditing at the local Scientology Celebrity Center.

Suri, for all intents and purposes, is only a child, (Tom’s two adopted children from marriage to Nicole Kidman are rarely pictured with the tot) and like any child, she should be able to enjoy her childhood before she hits that school with L. Ron Hubbard tech. Child psychologists have always emphasized the importance of children having peers to interact with, and if Suri is isolated and then immersed in a Scientology-only school, the effects could change her life forever, and not for the good. The same goes for Kate’s daughter Gypsy for that matter.

I of course hope that Katie has an epiphany and leaves the cult, and saves herself and Suri from a life in Scientology. Everyone has seen the visible toll that life with Tom and Scientology has done to her.

From This Katie

From This Katie

kate

To This Katie..In a Very Short Time

I also hope Kate Ceberano and her family, who are also victims, and any other members who are caught in Scientology’s grip, some day have the courage and the foresight to leave the cult.

Scientologist and Nancy Cartwright Ex, Steve Brackett Jumps To His Death — Cover Up and Conspiracy To Follow

Steve Brackett, Scientology Super Power Building Donor

Steve Brackett, Scientology Super Power Building Donor

We are still trying to piece together the events that led to the death of construction mogul and former beau of Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson) Steve Brackett’s suicide — and even more intriguing — why Scientologist associates were covering up the truth about his death.

The super-sleuths over at WWP discovered and made the connections between Brackett’s apparent suicide and his Scientology connections. As we stated here before at Glosslip, Scientology, statistically, has a high number of suicides within its membership, as well as, a number of unexplained deaths. Here are some details about the discovery of Brackett’s body back in May from the Monterey Herald:

bixby

Los Angeles man dies after fall from bridge

The body of a Los Angeles man, who apparently leaped to his death from the Highway 1 Bixby Bridge on the Big Sur Coast, was discovered Thursday.

A hiker found Stephen Brackett, 54, about 5:30a.m., said Dan Robison, a detective with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Coroner division.

Brackett, who was supposed to be visiting friends, disappeared Sunday. Robison said Brackett died from injuries suffered after the nearly 200-foot fall from the bridge.

There are no indications of foul play, and friends and relatives of Brackett said he was despondent because of financial troubles with his business, Robison said.

In this economy, it’s hard to not find sad stories like this of economic hardship taking its toll on a person’s mental state, so this story could have been swept up in the tide of bad news we are becoming all too accustomed to, were it not for the intriguing details that WWP were able to piece together after coming across this blog entry at the Bluemel Reader (writer Dan Bluemel) about Brackett’s death:

I had worked for Brackett for two years starting in 2000. He was a Scientology OT, which is to say in Scientology parlance, he was a “knowing and willing cause over life, thought, matter, energy, space and time.” [2] Since I had left his Los Angeles based construction company, Brackett Construction, Brackett had become a multi-million dollar contributor to Scientology. For a time, he courted Scientology celebrity, Nancy Cartwright, who is the voice of the cartoon character Bart Simpson.

Unfortunately, according to my sources, Brackett had run into trouble on various construction projects and recently lost several arbitration settlements, one of which cost him $300,000. He was scheduled to go to Flag, Scientology’s top church, soon, as a plane ticket had been purchased. More than likely, this visit was intended to help him sort out his recent woes using Scientology’s expensive psuedo-science counseling techniques.

The fascinating thing about Brackett’s death is that a Brackett Construction executive, who is a Scientologist, has been telling people for days that Brackett died in a head-on collision. My sources reveal that the cover story is even being told to Brackett’s children and mother. The reason for this lie is to protect the image of Scientology’s exalted state of OT, whom Scientologists believe to have supernatural powers giving them a near, full control over life.

It is truly sad when one considers that Brackett would not have had anyone, such as a relative or close friend, with whom he could have discussed his depression with. In the Scientology belief system, one’s “case” cannot be discussed with anyone other than their counselor, especially if they are an OT. That means Brackett could only talk about his issues with strangers or acquaintances at Flag, which is located across the country in Florida. Furthermore, OT’s are expected to embody the best of Scientology. So Brackett would have gone through this experience while feeling he must convey to those around him an aura of happiness and control. Also, considering Brackett’s money trouble juxtaposed against Scientologist’s belief that wealth is a sign of spiritual superiority, the pressure on Brackett must have been overwhelming.

Rather than take this time to question their false belief system, Scientologists who knew Brackett are going along with this crude attempt at public relations by continuing the cover story about his death. Although in private, they are talking about what really happened. But these Scientologists will not question their belief system. Instead, as church founder, L. Ron Hubbard would have them believe, Scientologists will wonder what Brackett had done to cause him to sink into spiritual degradation. Perhaps “there were errors in his counseling” or maybe “he had been weakened by a lack of morality,” they will wonder. Not once will these Scientologists realize that their belief system is a fraud.

So in the last couple of weeks we’ve had two Scientology-affiliated deaths (David Carradine being the other) and both have something in common besides Scientology: the media glossing over both deceased parties association with a cult which considers mental illness a false ailment and expressly forbids its members from seeking treatment outside of its own “cures.”

nancystevedavidBrackett was set to wed fellow Scientologist Nancy Cartwright who does the voice of Bart Simpson, and who famously was outed in the media last year for donating $10 million dollars to the “church.” According to Variety.com, Nancy and Steve were to be married in the spring of 2008, but that union was canceled.

Next spring, Cartwright will wed high-end general contractor Steve Brackett. The only two words she revealed about the wedding ceremony: “MARCHING BANDS.

Steve had been affiliated with the Church of Scientology since as far back as 1979, when he is listed as having reached “clear” status. Brackett is also listed as a Gold Meritorious IAS member, which signifies he’s contributed at least a $1 million to the CoS. Another interesting tidbit posted at WWP, was a “leaked” email about Steve’s death to Scientology members:

Steve Bracket departed his body last week.

Many of us knew Steve as an LA Org OTC Member who not only contributed to our projects through his work and financially, but brought many people into the LA Org for services. He’s a great guy and will be missed.

Steve’s memorial service will be held at Celebrity Centre this coming Saturday at 1:00 PM. Please feel free to let others know who may want to wish him a fond farewell and new beginning.

ML,
Betsy

Read into all that Scientology mumbo jumbo what you will. For additional information on this, please visit the WWP forum, where they have all the source data used in this story. Many thanks to all those folks who contributed in providing info on Steve’s death at WWP.

New Details Emerge About David Carradine’s Death, Including His Scientology Connections

david-caradine

As we reported earlier, actor David Carradine was found dead in a Bangkok Hotel room. Carradine was in Thailand working on his latest film, Stretch. As the day progressed, there has been additional news on the events surrounding Carradine’s death.

Most people remember Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine aka “Grasshopper” from the 1970’s TV show “Kung Fu”, or perhaps the youngin’s, may remember him from his role in the movie Kill Bill.

Carradine in Kung Fu TV Series

According to the BBC, the maid found him with a rope around his neck and a rope around another part of his body. The BBC has changed their story several times. It first said the rope was found around his neck and his genitals.  Perhaps the family did not want this reported, and who can blame them. Additionally, Carradine was found naked.

Although they are calling it suicide, I am going to put my money on ”erotic asphyxiation.” As disturbing as this may be to hear for fans of the actor, this is what I believe happened, based on what’s been reported.

For all you NON-kinky people, a little help from Wikipedia on Erotic asphyxiation:

“Erotic asphyxiation refers to intentionally cutting off oxygen to the brain for sexual arousal.”

The BBC writes:

Thai police told the BBC the 72-year-old was found by a hotel maid sitting in a wardrobe with a cord around his neck and other parts of his body.

The US star was in Thailand filming his latest film, Stretch, according to his personal manager Chuck Binder.

Mr Binder said the news was “shocking”, adding: “He was full of life, always wanting to work… a great person.”

A US embassy official confirmed the actor’s death, but added that the cause of death had not yet been established.

Mark Kermode pays tribute to David Carradine

However, Thai newspaper, The Nationn reported that police believe the actor took his own life, and preliminary investigations found that he hanged himself.

Carradine was part of an acting dynasty which included his father, John Carradine, and brothers Bruce, Keith and Robert. The star was best known for his role as Kwai Chang Caine in the 1970s TV series Kung Fu, which spawned sequels in the ’80s and ’90s.

The character became one of the most iconic roles in US TV and earned Carradine both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

While his film career saw him working with directors including Martin Scorsese and Ingmar Bergman, the cult actor was considered something of a B-movie legend.

In 2003, after years in the straight-to-video market, Carradine found a new audience thanks to his role in the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill.

He was most recently seen on the big screen as a Chinese mobster in Crank: High Voltage, opposite British actor Jason Statham. Carradine was an accomplished composer, musician, musical performer and songwriter. According to his official website, he was also a sculptor and a painter. He is survived by his wife, Annie Bierman, and three children including actresses Calista and Kansas.

What the BBC did not mention or include, oddly enough, was his daughter Sienna Caradine.

Not surprisingly, another HUGE part missing from this story was David Carradine’s family being steeped in Scientology. Although David had denied being a Scientologist, he was however, quite the Scientology sympathizer, including multiple performances at at the Scientology Celebrity Center.

Scientology shamelessly participated in the Christmas parade and used the Christmas holiday to promote the L. Ron Hubbard pulp fiction crap books Stories From a Golden Age. Carradine was seen riding on one of the Scientology floats at the parade, presenting at the premier of John Travolta’s film Bolt AND has also presented with Scientologist Jason Lee at the annual L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future contest.

Furthermore, he has also performed with his band the Soul Dogs in concert at the Scientology Celebrity center. Wow, that’s a lot of hanging with the Scientologists for a guy who claims not to be one.

Where did Carradine’s involvement originate?

Perhaps when Carradine met Milton Katselas at an audition in October 1960. Katselas was a producer and acting coach at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and was renown for ruthlessly indoctrinating his students into Scientology by using a lot of pressure. Katselas told his students that they would improve their careers and make more money if they got into Scientology, when in fact the only one getting richer was Katselas, who was surely compensated by Scientology for every celebrity cash cow he delivered.

Katselas, the vulture, an OT (operating thetan) himself, died back in October of 2008 of heart failure, clearly Scientology doesn’t cure ALL that ails you. I wish I could be more sympathetic towards Katselas death, but I come up empty for anyone who indoctrinates people into a cult for personal gain or any other reason.

A snippet from the New York Times in an article named the Actualizer:

“Of the students, I easily located a dozen who are Scientologists, and based on interviews, I concluded there are probably several dozen more in the current student body of 500. Like their teachers, some students are devout while others indulge a mild curiosity and then drop off. ”I went down and took a couple of classes,” David Carradine said. ”I’m no kind of Scientologist, but I’ve been around it enough to know it’s a very intelligent thing.”

Oh David…Really? Scientology an intelligent thing? Wow that’s SAD.

Carradine Reading At Scientology Book Promotion

Actor David Carradine reads "A Visit From St. Nick" during the Church of Scientology's Christmas Stories XV at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre

Carradine’s FIFTH wife, Ann Bierman, (since 2004) is an OTV in Scientology. She has a Scientology Web page set up, (set up by Scientology that is) where she states that Scientology has made her drug free.

Other Carradine family members’ Scientology courses can be easily found on TruthAboutScientology.com: Sienna, Calista, Wife Anne

One has to wonder, is this yet another Scientology related death?
Seems awfully odd that two of his daughters AND his wife are so deep into Scientology, but yet Carradine himself remained unconnected to Scientology? How can anyone have that many close family members in the cult and not be in the cult themselves, or maybe that was part of Carradine’s problem?  Maybe it weighed heavy on his brain or affected his relationship with his wife and family members. On the other hand, can someone have close family members in Scientology and not be affected?

Yes, it’s quite possible David may have only dabbled in Scientology, he’s certainly not the first (yes Will and Jada Smith, we’re talking to you!)

But what doesn’t make sense is why David, at the age of 72, would (allegedly) engage in such risky and dangerous behavior, as erotic asphyxiation. Didn’t INXS singer Michael Hutchence teach the celeb world the dangers of seeking sexual arousal in unnatural ways? While it may be a stretch to suggest this behavior was born from some sort of Scientology-related weirdness, stranger things have happened within the Scientology world.

So Grasshopper, although you probably unknowingly helped the cult’s agenda in their quest to “clear the planet” while you were here, may you rest in peace in hopes that you have finally found your bridge to total freedom.

Wikipedia Tells Scientology To GTFO

scientology_090529_mn

Wikipedia has shown Scientology the door. Buh-bye Scientology.

It seems that pseudo-science “religion” Scientology didn’t play fair, (do they ever?) so it was time for Wikipedia to kick the bullies off the playground. Well, sort of.

Allow us to explain.

Of course you can still read about the cult on Wikipedia as their listing has NOT been banned from Wikipedia, but rather Scientology-based IP addresses.

Essentially, the Wikipedia arbitration committee voted unanimously to block IP addresses associated with the cult from editing their site, as they were doing it from multiple IP addresses called sockpuppet and meatpuppet accounts. But like all things on the internet, it’s a little more complicated than that.

This ban got VERY confusing to me once I started reading into Wikipedia’s full decision and all the mumbo jumbo, but we will do out best to explain.

The Huffington Post explains it a lot better that I can:

Wikipedia has banned the Church of Scientology and its members from editing its site after discovering that members of the church were editing articles in order to give the church favorable coverage.

The move is being hailed as “an unprecedented effort to crack down on self-serving edits,” and it is the first instance in which Wikipedia has banned a group as large as the Church of Scientology.

The Register reports:

According to evidence turned up by admins in this long-running Wikiland court case, multiple editors have been “openly editing [Scientology-related articles] from Church of Scientology equipment and apparently coordinating their activities.” Leaning on the famed WikiScanner, countless news stories have discussed the editing of Scientology articles from Scientology IPs, and some site admins are concerned this is “damaging Wikipedia’s reputation for neutrality.”

One admin tells The Reg that policing edits from Scientology machines has been particularly difficult because myriad editors sit behind a small number of IPs and, for some reason, the address of each editor is constantly changing. This prevents admins from determining whether a single editor is using multiple Wikipedia accounts to game the system. In Wikiland, such sockpuppeting is not allowed.

The Wikicourt considered banning edits from Scientology IPs only on Scientology-related articles. But this would require admins to “checkuser” editors - i.e. determine their IP - every time an edit is made. And even then they may not know who’s who.

The case— the fourth Scientology-related dispute on the site in four years — opened in December 2008 and closed Thursday with the Wikipedia arbitration committee voting unanimously to block IP addresses associated with the Church from editing the site.

“The purpose of Wikipedia is to create a high-quality, free-content encyclopedia in an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual respect among contributors,” part of the decision read. “Use of the encyclopedia to advance personal agendas - such as advocacy or propaganda and philosophical, ideological or religious dispute - or to publish or promote original research is prohibited.”

“Editors who access Wikipedia through an organization’s IP address and who edit Wikipedia articles which relate to that organization have a presumptive conflict of interest,” it continued. “Regardless of these editors’ specific relationship to that organization or function within it, the organization itself bears a responsibility for appropriate use of its servers and equipment. If an organization fails to manage that responsibility, Wikipedia may address persistent violations of fundamental site policies through blocks or bans.”
Read the full decision.

So there you have it.

Scientology is currently in court in France and being charged with:

“Illicit practices in attempts to sell their alleged self-help material. The Church also faces charges of illegally operating as a pharmacy by illegally treating individuals with prescription medications”.

It is rumored that Norway may follow suit. There are also many other suits filed from ex cult members. And a myriad of books of their horrid experiences is expected to follow.

So once again I have to say (and with glee) it looks like Scientology’s days are numbered. KUDOS to Wikipedia for not being bullied, and doing the right thing. It’s a start.

Now if only the US would grow some balls, refuse to have their pockets padded and pay attention to the MOUNTAIN of complaints, videos of protesters getting assaulted, evidence of fair game, ex member testimonies and books that were written and all the reports that were filed with the FBI, then maybe we could declare this a major step.

Truly, I don’t know what the US government is waiting for. I understand these things take time, but with every day that ticks by, it is another day that a Scientology Sea Org member suffers, and thousands of family members miss their children that they haven’t seen in years.

It’s one more day that Scientology bilks it’s members out of more money. It’s one more day that someone gets brainwashed. It’s another day of punishment for someone on the Sea Org’s RPF. It’s another day of exhaustion and going to bed hungry. It’s another day a girl gets forced into aborting her child.

Time is precious, let’s not give the cult one more day to harm people. Let’s not let them trick one more person into buying their “Bridge To Nowhere.”

Scientology Ditz, Jenna Elfman’s New Fall Show… A CBS Accident For Sure

Grrrrr!! I Love Scientology!

Grrrrr!! I Love Scientology!

Just when things are looking up and NBC drops Scientologist Jason Lee’s show, “My Name is Earl,” (the dumbest show ever…right up there next to My Mother The Car) CBS says they are coming out with a new comedy this Fall called “Accidentally on Purpose”, and will star Jenna Elfman. Thanks CBS, thanks A LOT!

Jenna was recently interviewed on the Early Show, to promote her new flop show and they ran a clip of Accidentally On Purpose. It is beyond BAD. In the small clip you can already tell the show is loaded with bad acting, lousy writing and it’s just NOT funny.  See for yourself.

For those of you who don’t know who Jenna Elfman is, she made it big with the TV show “Dharma and Greg” years ago. Now for all you youngins’, who are saying, who or what the hell is Dharma and Greg, allow me to enlighten you.

The show aired from 1997 - 2002 and was about a culture-clashed couple, with Dharma, a goofy neo-hippy whose parents are new agey types and her husband, Greg (played by Thomas Gibson) a straight-laced lawyer, whose parents, you guessed are also uptight yuppies. Oh the hilarity that ensued (or didn’t depending on who you ask) as the quirky Dharmas and the uppity Gregs dealt with life’s little mysteries. Ok, enough of that drivel.

In real life, Jenna is NO Dharma, abiding by the live and let live policy of her on-screen persona, but rather she and her husband Bodhi, (son of director Richard Elfman) are die-hard Scientologists. And just to keep you apprised of what Scientologists believe about other religions — they don’t. Even worse than most mainstream religions, Scientology is one of the most intolerant of outside beliefs and other faiths of any cult around.

Not surprising… Bodhi’s father Richard, is also a Scientologist. Jenna and Bodhi met at auditions for a Sprite commercial. Bodhi was responsible for getting Jenna into the cult. The BOTH studied under Milton Katselas who is the teacher at the famed The Beverly Hills Playhouse. Unfortunately Katselas has pressured MANY celebrities to get into Scientology, but since he has “dropped his body” at least he won’t be able to lure any new converts (thanks Liz).

The Elfmans have one child, Story Elias, who will presumably be raised as a Scientologist. SAD I believe Jenna is OT V on Scientology’s Bridge To Nowhere. Correct me if I am wrong.  And she has also been on Scientology’s Freewinds cruise ship which was laden with asbestos when she traveled on it. Better get those lungs checked Jenna!

Now this new show, “Accidentally On Purpose” is supposed to be a comedy, but the true comedy here is definitely Jenna herself. She has been known to come out with some pretty off-the-wall statements over the years, and Jenna and Bodhi defend their cult with an iron fist.

Back in 2006, when Elfman was out one day with Bodhi, they happened to come across someone wearing a Scientology is Gay t-shirt which pictured Tom Cruise on the front, and a young John Travolta, with VERY GAY written underneath.

This prompted Jenna to scream at and berate this man wearing the t-shirt with standard Scientology attack behavior, asking him what his crimes were and if he raped a baby. Yes you read that right. Seriously, WTF is up with that line of defensive, or in this case, offensive? That’s a classic sign of instability and insanity if you ask me.

TMZ reported:

”Tom Cruise’s recent public displays weren’t evidence enough, Scientologists Jenna and Bodhi Elfman prove that they, too, are willing to go to great lengths to defend their religion.

Indie film director John Roecker tells TMZ he was walking to his car with a female friend in the trendy Los Feliz neighborhood last Sunday when he was approached by a shirtless man and a tall blonde. “Hey, man, you’re making fun of my religion,” said the stranger angrily.

Roecker quickly recognized the couple as actor Bodhi Elfman and his wife, ‘Dharma and Greg’ star Jenna Elfman. Mr. Elfman’s ire was apparently drawn by Roecker’s self-made t-shirt, which had a picture of Tom Cruise on the front under the caption “Scientology is Gay!” and a ‘Stayin’-Alive’-era John Travolta on the back with the words “Very Gay!” For the record, both Cruise and Travolta have said repeatedly they are not gay.

According to Roecker, whose encounter was first reported on LA’s KROQ-FM’s Kevin and Bean Show, the invective started to fly after he made several references to Scientology theology and its reported central tenent, the story of Xenu.

Roecker says Jenna repeatedly said “What crimes have you committed?” and began screaming at Roecker, “Have you raped a baby?” as motorists on Los Feliz Boulevard drove by in snarled traffic.

Roecker says it appears that Bodhi Elfman prepared to take a swing at him, but thought against it.

Bizarrely, Roecker also says that the Elfmans had a young, twenty-something male companion with them whom they continually instructed to move away and cover his ears whenever references to Xenu were made.

Roecker says this is not the first time he has worn a t-shirt that has provoked similar reactions from fellow devotees of L. Ron Hubbard like Juliette Lewis, Lisa Marie Presley, and actor Hal Ozman, who worked on ‘Dawson’s Creek’ with none other than a certain Katie Holmes. Sources at the Church of Scientology’s Celebrity Centre say Roecker is no stranger to them. Several non-celeb parishioners have also complained about Roecker’s t-shirts.

Bodhi Elfman’s rep Jenni Weinman tells TMZ that according to Bodhi “He was out for a Sunday stroll with his wife, when some guy walks by with a t-shirt on, very prominently attacking his religion. Words were extended and Bodhi and Jenna were personally attacked for their beliefs. As they went about their business, the guy continued to try to illicit negative responses from the both of them. As they walked away he continued to scream propaganda and hate at them. Apparently he spent all Monday calling the press to promote himself.

Yikes! Elfmans, grow the hell up and get a clue on reality! Oh wait… too late, you’re Scientologists, things like reality and a clue are foreign terms.

I was going to give Jenna a good dissing in this article, because she most definitely deserves it, but it’s really not necessary. All one has to do, is quote Jenna herself, her quotes pretty much diss herself.

So here we go…a few charming quotes by Ms. Jenna Whack-a-Do Scientology Extraordinaire.

But wait, there’s more…
