Britney Spears Blah Blah Shopping Blah Blah Handicapped Space Blah Blah

brithandicapparking.jpg

Sorry, I can’t blame this one on anything but selfishness.  Here’s Brit’s parking in a two handicapped spots on her little jaunt to Petco on Wednesday.

And there’s nothing further I can say, because any further elaboration is totally unnecessary.

Scientologist Suggests Barack Obama, Condi Rice and Al Sharpton Better Suited Sweeping Offices, Than Running For Them

condi.jpgbarack.JPGsharpton_mug.jpg

Just when you think the Church of Scientology couldn’t get any more bizarre, they go and do something like this.

The article from today’s NYDN’s Gategrasher quotes best-selling author (and next week’s Glosslip Radio guest) Ian Halperin from his upcoming “undercover” expose on the Church of Scientology. From Ben Widdiecombe’s article:

Have you been wondering who Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who died in 1986, would vote for to be President?

Investigative journalist Ian Halperin has. The best-selling author is about to publish “Hollywood Undercover,” his exposé of the controversial church. But when he asked a Scientology recruiter in Los Angeles the question, he received the most offensive response imaginable.

“He said, ‘I can tell you who shouldn’t be President - Barack Obama, Condoleezza Rice and the Rev. Al Sharpton. They should not be allowed to run for office, they should be sweeping the office.”

Clearly we can imagine the Church’s response to this story will go something like “The views expressed by one radical member of the church in no way reflect the views of the Church itself. The Church embraces people of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are is proud of it’s multi-rational membership.” Or some such wishy-washy backtracking nonsense.

And then they will likely hire some Scientology goon to shadow whoever made that statement and that person will POOF! vanish into thin air. Think I am kidding? Don’t be too sure. I have written several stories about Scientology over the years and not so coincidentally, have been contacted by members of the Church more than once, who were quite savvy about where I lived and what I’ve been up to. Nothing overtly threatening, just an air of “weirdness.”

These past couple weeks have been a difficult time for the Church with some very inflammatory assertions being leveled at the Church, by yet another best-selling author, biographer to the stars, Andrew Morton. While some of Morton’s claims seem a bit outlandish, including one suggesting Tom and Katie Cruise’s daughter Suri is the product of some creepy insemination process using L.Ron Hubbard’s frozen sperm, to a secret COS mission to take over Germany, the media itself seems to be in agreement on one thing: The Church of Scientology isn’t exactly what you’d call “kosher.”

Hopefully, Ian’s new book, which has him posing as “as a gay man wishing to be “cured” by Scientology” will in fact, shed some light on what goes one behind close doors. Halperin also “aims to expose the prejudice of the church,” which clearly exists considering the above statement about Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Senator (and popular presidential candidate) Barack Obama and Reverend Al Sharpton.

Oh, and I’d be quite remiss in not mentioning this past week’s leaked Scientology Indoctrination videos featuring an impassioned and completely unhinged Tom Cruise’s fervent proselytizing of the powers of Scientology from website Gawker. Whom, btw, were immediately hit with a cease and desist from COS lawyers. So far, the video remains available on their website, but who knows for how long.

Be sure to tune in to next Sunday’s Glosslip Radio show when we can talk to Ian himself about what he saw and heard during his investigative undercover reporting on the Church of Scientology.

Update: As I anticipated, the Scientologists and their feverish paranoid masses have tried to refute the claims of the COS being a bunch of racists xenophobes, so I was presented a quote direct from L. Ron Hubbard himself to his second wife. Thanks to Ian for the quote. There’s also some other interesting quotes noted by barb in the comments section below. iI recommend you check it.

L. Ron Hubbard to second wife: “You shouldn’t be scrubbing the floor on your hands and knees. Get yourself a nigger; that’s what they’re born for”.

Is Britney Spears Capable Of Consenting To Sexual Relations? And Where The Hell Are Her Parents?

britney_spears2.jpg

I had an epiphany of sorts this week. A strange mixture of revulsion and pity swept over me as I pictured Britney in her hyper-sexualized, manic-driven, deranged state complying with her new “boyfriend” Adnan Ghalib’s sexual advances.

As far as I am concerned, Britney is INCAPABLE of making rational, sane and healthy decisions about her life right now. This is not to say she isn’t manipulating the media, behaving in a willfully bratty and selfish way, but those random acts of defiance should not be confused with the sanity the rest of us count on to make appropriate decisions about our lives.

My assertion is Britney is being sexually abused by anyone who chooses to engage in relations with her at this time, this ESPECIALLY includes her new boyfriend - who I will take a step further and state, if Adnan IS in fact engaging in intercourse with Britney, it is NOT consensual and could qualify as rape.

I realize this is a strong statement, but please allow me to explain.

But wait, there’s more…

New Naked Britney Spears Pics - Just In Time For Christmas

brittpink.jpg
At the top of my Christmas list in BLACK BOLD LETTERS is: MORE PICTURES OF BRITNEY SPEARS’ ASS. And just in time and right on schedule, I got my wish. I also wished for bleach and forks to gouge my eyes out after viewing said pics, but Santa wasn’t feeling all that generous I guess. I think he’s had it with the attention whores of fame.

So here you go, pics of Britney showing her best feature, which just so happens to be a far site better than her face these days. Nothing like have your face bloated from Starbucks frappes, prescription drugs, heavy doses of Nyquil and whatever other crap Brit shoves in her gaping maw. This new lifestyle has done wonders for her skin. She’s a real beauty that Britney.

Larry Craig Likes Burly Men, “Allegedly”

craigdavid.jpg

I say allegedly for legal purposes only, but let’s face it, where there’s smoke there’s almost certainly fire.

Remember Larry Craig, the Idaho senator who was busted for soliciting an undercover officer for gay sex in an airport bathroom? Yeah, well if that wasn’t unsavory enough for you, this handsome burly gay man has come forward with some very salacious allegations about Craig from 20 years ago.

The equally unsavory Wonkette has the straight scoop:

One night, Phillips continues, “I followed [Craig] from The Follies to a Capitol Hill neighborhood, parking on the street no telling how far from his house. We walked up the alley and through the back door of a house, with him repeating several times, ‘You were never here. You don’t know me. Right?’ and me responding, ‘Right!’ in boyish submission. As we tiptoed from the back door to the stairs to the upper floor, as if somebody else was home, he turned to grope my crotch and brush my face with his hand.” The house’s decor led Phillips to believe that this was a married man: “The bric-a-brac with family pictures didn’t scream ‘old queen’ to me; it announced a woman’s influence. Still, we made our way upstairs.

It gets WAY more detailed from there and I caution the reader, it is not for the weak of constitution. But in summary the gentleman telling the story, David, describes what is the typical MO for gay men (married or not) who are in the closet, hold positions of authority and feel free to use and abuse young men who are confused and insecure.

It really is no different than the way straight men use and abuse young women who are confused and insecure.

I lived in DC (including Dupont Circle - a predominantly gay community) from ‘87 to ‘96. I even visited male gay bars (I am a straight female, the music in these clubs were always great and the guys never hassle you, so there!) and there was definitely a heavy inclination on anonymous sex and some real promiscuity. And this was during a time when AIDS was an iron-clad death sentence.

Being gay, IMHO, is absolutely something a person has no choice in. You are what you are, and it is what it is. Really, what’s the big deal. We should all strive to be true to ourselves. But I never was able to comprehend the distasteful way some gay men treated each other. There were literally places you could go to and have sex with someone without even looking them in the eye, let alone knowing their name. It is this tawdry side of (mostly male) gay life I think people have a hard time coming to terms with. Dalliances and infidelities happen within every kind of sexual orientation, but men are so hardwired for sex, that when you put them together in groups as objects of sexuality, the results can be grim.

This is why I support gay marriage. As a society we should be encouraging monogamy, in what ever form love takes.

*steps off podium*

Oh, and Larry Craig is a disgusting, mean-spirited perv for treating a fellow human being like that.

Akon Apologizes In Wake Of Simulated Sex Storm

akon1.JPG

Singer, Akon, who was set to tour with Gwen Stefani, is now apologizing for his behavior during a concert in Trinidad recently.

The rapper/reggae star was performing on stage and invited women from the audience on stage for a “dance” competition, ostensibly to win a trip to Africa.  The winner, 15-year old Danah Alleyne then had to compete against Akon which resulted in a disturbing visual as Ms. Alleyne was virtually raped (though clothed and in public) by Akon and then sandwiched by his entourage in a sexually charged display of aggression.  To make matters worse, there was no trip to Africa.

The Stefani/Akon tour was sponsored by Verizon, including a broad campaign of ads (including blogads on our network daddy, Blogcritics.org) but have since been cancelled and ads have been pulled, Verizon only gave “reasons” as the excuse for dropping out of the tour.

No word yet on whether anyone else will pick up the sponsorship spot for the tour.  My guess is that Gwen will drop Akon entirely from the tour if she can do so legally.  I would imagine this is what’s going on behind the scenes now and Gwen would be within her right to do so.  Who the hell wants to be associated with that kind of ridiculousness?  Here’s the statement Akon released:

“First, and most important to me, I want to sincerely apologize for the embarrassment and any pain I’ve caused to the young woman who joined me on-stage, her family and the Trinidad community for the events at my concert in Port of Spain on April 12th. It was never my intention to embarrass or take advantage of my fans in any way, especially those under the age of 18. That is why we tried to make sure that the club did not admit anyone under 18 in the audience. Somehow, that standard was not met.

Again, I apologize to those concerned and to all my fans and I pledge to all that we will strive to make sure this type of incident does not happen again.”

Oh, I guess it’s okay to simulate rape/sex with people over 18?  WTF?

Paris Hilton Ready To Face The Consequences, Releases Statement To Media

paris12.JPG

Perhaps realizing that her campaign to avoid her jail sentence of 45 days for violating her DUI probation was doing her more harm than good, Ms. Hilton has released this statement to the media:

“After reading the media’s coverage of my court hearing, I feel the need to correct what I believe are misperceptions about me. I absolutely realize how serious driving under the influence is. I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired. Clearly, no one should — no matter how slightly.

I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation.”

No one is above the law. I surely am not. I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse.”

A brilliant move on her part, either through her own realization or that of her PR team, Paris Hilton seems to be ready to move on in the next phase of her punishment.  Rather than forcing us to condemn her for her seemingly selfish and pampered sense of entitlement, Paris is taking thetact that any smart celeb (or person for that matter) should take: responsibility for her actions.

While we should take a wait and see attitude in the coming weeks until she surrenders herself and does her time, it is my feeling that if she sincerely acts in good faith, tows the line and does her best — she will come out ahead in this.

Nothing makes you more palatable to the public that a healthy does of humiliation.

Good for you, Paris, now don’t screw it up — and better yet, keep it up!

Jessica Simpson’s Dirty In More Ways Than One

jessica1.JPG

You know how they say once a girl gets herself a man, she really lets herself go?  Well I think that pretty much applies to Jessica Simpson.

I tried to ignore that fake tan.  I tried to ignore the poorly executed hair color (which makes the tan look AWFUL), I even tried to ignore the general feeling that she’s given up trying to look good - but I cannot and will not forget the above photo.  There’s no excuse to not keep her girls underwraps.  What, she’s doesn’t own a mirror?

Anway, this story about Jess and her main peen John Mayer on vacation in Rome made me want to throw up:

“Jessica and John got back fairly early and stayed in all night. But by the sounds of it, they didn’t get to sleep for a long time. “This woman was saying she couldn’t believe Jessica sounded like she was getting it on so loudly in the room next door.”

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, please keep your weird sex stuff to your damn self, that means your freaky noises and attention-getting moaning.  People only do that because they WANT people to hear them.  Spare me!

And then there’s this Daily News blind item revealed at IDLYITW :

Which blond bombshell, on a recent visit to Rome, became ill and soiled her bedsheets so badly that the hotel mattress had to be replaced? “Also, she and [her boyfriend] have a reputation for really dirty sex,” says a snitch.

Look sh*t happens to everyone.  I one time had what had to be the Ebola virus and crapped in my pants at work.  Needless to say, not a high point in my career, but at least no one had to replace my chair.  It takes a lot of fluid to ruin an entire mattress.  Trust me, I have kids, I know.

MSNBC Fires Don Imus Over Racial Slur, Why The Outrage?

donimus1.JPG

The water just keeps getting hotter for shamed radio DJ Don Imus.  For those who don’t know, during’ Imus simulcast show last week he said some derogatory remarks about the Rutgers Women’s Basketball Team.  What compelled him to utter “nappy-headed hos” about a group of stellar, hard working women athletes is beyond me.  But now he’s paying the price, and how. MSNBC released this statement to TMZ:

“Effective immediately, MSNBC will no longer simulcast the “Imus in the Morning” radio program. This decision comes as a result of an ongoing review process, which initially included the announcement of a suspension. It also takes into account many conversations with our own employees. What matters to us most is that the men and women of NBC Universal have confidence in the values we have set for this company. This is the only decision that makes that possible. Once again, we apologize to the women of the Rutgers basketball team and to our viewers. We deeply regret the pain this incident has caused.”

This comes on the heels of several negative repercussions leveled at Imus, including his wife being forced to cancel her book tour for her environmentally focused book called Green This! Volume 1: Greening Your Cleaning, and two major TV appearances: “The Martha Stewart Show” and “The View.”  Imus has also had major advertising pulled from his CBS and MSNBC show, as well as a two-week suspension from both - well until he was cancelled altogether from MSNBC.

Sheesh!  I don’t even think Mel Gibson or Michael Richards’ mellow’s were harshed that badly.  Why the extreme reaction?  According to “Opie and Anthony,” yet another shockjock show (based in NY) they are firmly behind Imus’ right to free speech, and see this as a major blow to anyone hoping to have a “comedy-based” show in radio, where talking ‘off the cuff’ (as they call it) can cost you your job.  And rival Howard Stern, well, he spent his satellite time basking the glory of watching his arch-nemesis go down in flames - shocker!

But why is this such a big deal?

The answer is simple: context.  Imus had ZERO context for using such a racially charged and degrading remark about women, let alone African-American women who are in essence, living their dream to the fullest.  Back in the 90’s I worked for a major women’s college basketball team and the competition to get into a school at the level of Rutgers, let alone the upper echalon’s like UConn and Tennessee is fierce.  These women are pursued for years.  Scouted as young as 6th grade through summer AAU camps.  These aren’t “nappy-headed ho’s” these are high caliber females who must not only show tremendous prowess on the court, but present the whole package: good grades, well-rounded curriculum and families who are supporting their efforts from the cradle on.

fozybrown.JPGHad Imus called say, Foxy Brown, a “nappy-headed ho” he might have been met with gasps, tongue-clucking and finger-waving, but the fallout would have been nil.  You can get away with calling someone who conducts themselves in the manner of a ho, a ho (no offense Foxy, but come on) but you CANNOT get away with calling highly revered, exemplary people who have done NOTHING to bring on such insults, these kinds of names without getting yourself skewered alive.

Off the cuff is one thing – blatantly hateful racial slurs without even the slightest hint off reality – is quite another.  Imus, maybe it’s high time you retire, make amends and apologize to your wife.
