According to the papers in the UK, she is:

The singer sought help at an undisclosed location following months of well documented problems battling substance abuse.

Winehouse, 24, sought help after her father, Mitch, admitted her family have looked into getting her sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

She has been at the centre of a police inquiry after being caught on video last week, apparently inhaling from a crack pipe.

“Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors,” Universal Music Group said in a statement.

“She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction,” the statement said.

It would also seem that the police don’t see her as a danger to herself, even after being caught smoking crack on tape:

In an interview with Vanessa Feltz on BBC London father Mitch complained the authorities don’t regard her drug-taking as a danger to herself.

But, he said, they needed her to agree to treatment. The family were helpless to intervene without her consent because the authorities don’t see her drug addiction as harmful.

Well, I can certainly understand that.  There are no reports or studies that show these sorts of drugs (ecstasy, cocaine, etc) are harmful to one’s health or well-being.  Absolutely nothing that shows they can cause one to act in a way they normally would, including putting oneself in danger or acting in a way that is dangerous to oneself or others or create a distorted sense of one’s reality that might cause one to hurt oneself.  But then again, all she would have to do is refuse to say anything incriminating against herself, argue that she was being set up by a nameless faceless entity, or say that she was just “joking” or “pretending” to take drugs, and the UK police can’t even caution her.

I certainly hope that Amy can stay in rehab this time, and that she gets the help she needs.  To see anyone throw their life away in this manner is heartbreaking and sad.  She certainly does seem to have a strong family system around her who seems to be working hard to help her get better (coughLynneandJamiecough).

But I would like to say this to Amy:  You can’t go into rehab thinking that you’re going to do this for your father, or because you’re worried about salvaging your career.  You have to do this for yourself.  Anything else, is just gravy.

Sorry for the musical cliches, but Amy Winehouse is full of cliches. As K posted, The Sun has video of the soulful songstress burning her brains cells and destroying her voice through a crackpipe, this after admitting she just dropped six valium, wharfed some coke and snorted some powdered ecstasy. How all 90-pounds of her could still be standing after all of that is a mystery and the BBC should do a documentary on it.

Amy emerged yesterday with her dad and sporting a new hair-do. HALLELUJAH and PRAISE THE LORD! That Wino-Albino look was giving me nightmares. I was about to call the vet to have her treated for mange.

Amy’s long-suffering parents are fully aware of their daughter’s issues, and don’t much appreciate The Sun’s “underhand tactics” in getting her drug-binge on film. From P-Nasty’s site:

“I’m off to see Amy now. I’ve spoken to her already and she’s fine. She says she’s ok, so no problems. All that picture shows is what everybody knew anyway. Yes, I am worried about her but this picture doesn’t show anything we didn’t already know before. It just shows me the tabloids are resorting to underhand tactics to expose her and we already know what the problems are.”

He also has a quote from Amy’s record company, Universal Republic:

“We are deeply disappointed and upset by these latest revelations and are doing everything we can to offer Amy our full support in dealing with her problems.”

Oh please. F-U guys at Universal. You want to help Amy, drop her from your label. Stop paying her and feeding her ego and drug habit. Remove the incentive for her to continue disappointing fans, wasting her talent, and making a mockery of her creative talents.

Unlike say Britney Spears, who is clearly a few lot of brain-cells shy of being a fully-functional human, Amy is merely a drug addict with an attitude problem. All one needs to do is watch the video and see she is cognizant of her actions, and capable of making decisions for herself. This is not the actions of someone who’s brain is in another galaxy, but rather, a person who selfishly and greedily consumes substances as an excuse to escape her problems. Problems of her OWN making. Don’t marry amoral drug addicts who think beating people up is ok, and then try and buy their justice using your money.

Sorry to be so cruel, but Amy’s nothing more than self-absorbed junkie who doesn’t care about anyone but her next fix. That’s not something I have sympathy for. Thank heaven’s she doesn’t have children, because she’s just the type you’d hear about selling her kids for a rock of crack. She’s damn lucky I’m not her mother. I’d have snatched every last strand off her bleached-out head and made her walk around with red bald patches.

Yes, I’m that men. It’s called tough love Mrs. Winehouse, try it some time.

This is for all of you wondering why Amy looked stoned out of her gourd at her husband’s hearing a few days ago. Simple, really…it’s because she’s a drug addict, and now there’s new video to support what we’ve been saying all along.

Video posted by The Sun in the UK show the singer smoking and snorting crack, snorting ecstasy, looking for her kitten (what??? A kitten in that mess? Well, I guess we can at least be thankful it isn’t a baby, but a poor defenseless kitten is bad enough), telling her sleazy friends she just popped six Valium (whatever doctor is prescribing those needs to seriously be brought up on charges), and saying she has to be up at 8AM to attend her husband’s hearing:

At one point, lank-haired Amy is warned to watch out for smashed glass on the floor as she scours a bedroom for her kitten barefoot.

The dazed and confused star accuses a guest of taking the pet from a quiet room into the drug-fuelled hubbub of her house party. […]

Amy threw the party at her trendy home in the early hours of Friday — just before she went to court to support husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL at a remand hearing.

Within seconds of greeting pals at the door, she greedily snorted powdered ecstasy offered on the corner of a credit card.

Minutes later, with her head swimming, she is seen on the video being offered cocaine.

A friend cautions her not to take too much because the drug is from a highly-concentrated stash.

But Amy disregards the warning and hungrily snorts a clump. […]

Just before 5am, Amy heads up a spiral staircase to her dimly-lit bedroom, where she squats on her leopardskin print duvet and chats to scruffy pals as she primes a glass pipe with rocks of crack. […]

The voice that has sold millions of records is transformed into a weak, breathless croak as she tries to talk. […]

Pals ask her to go out with them, but she mutters: “I’d be useless to you because I’ve had about six Valium.”

Ironically, she insists she cannot party too heavily as she has to be up at 8am to get to the court on time.

So, there you have it. The Death of Amy Winehouse. Can’t she be brought up on some sort of charges for this? I mean, it’s all on video!

I don’t really know what to say here, because there’s not a lot one can say. You can’t force someone to see who willfully remains blind, you can’t help someone who doesn’t want help. What else do you do at this point?

And remember, Amy herself feels the same way:

The pop superstar admits to being a heavy drinker, and said she is a terrible drunk and insists that the legal stimulant is worse than injecting illegal drugs. […]

“Drinking long-term is a lot worse than doing heroin. Alcohol’s a real poison.”

Although with her well-documented problems with drink and drugs, and her failure to address them, it’s clear Amy is not exactly the voice of reason.

And despite her terrible problems with drug and alcohol abuse, when it comes to rehab she still says no.

A newly bleached Amy said: “I’m of the school of thought where if you can’t sort something out for yourself then no one can help you,” she told a U.S. magazine.

It’s not too late for her to get help, but Amy seems hell-bent on destroying herself. Get a good look now, folks, because she probably won’t be around for long.

Why yes, I did go there.

TMZ reported Pam Anderson is NO longer pregnant. Gee, what a freaking shock. It’s not like I didn’t predict this very thing on our Glosslip entertainment segment for BTRToday. If you will recall, Pammy did the same thing to her second husband, from her other marriage which lasted approximately 30 seconds to Kid Rock.

As I recall, Pam told Kid Rock she was pregnant and then called him hysterical and jealous from Toronto stating she was having a miscarriage. Kid flies out to see her and finds her partying and having a grand old time. Her excuse, she was just kidding.

Fast forward to September 2007 and Pam hooks up with smut-peddler and Paris Hilton’s ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon after he offers to bail her out of a gambling bet in exchange for sex. Pam, being a total whore, agrees, then chooses to marry him, files for divorce, retracts divorce filing, claims to be pregnant and BAM! suddenly isn’t pregnant anymore. Guess the divorce is back on!

I just have to say there is something really annoying about women who use their ability to reproduce as an excuse to manipulate men, either by lying about being pregnant or actually getting pregnant as a way of entrapment. Children aren’t toys or inanimate objects. But Pam is an idiot. If I were Rick I’d be glad to be rid of her STD riddled carcass. He’s actually the bigger prize of that union. Blech!

Also, in ridiculous Hollywood news, Eddie Murphy and his ex-wife by “symbolic union” of exactly two weeks, Tracey Edmonds, have officially split up. Why? Because Eddie Murphy likes men who dress up like women and was clearly confused. Oh, and I guess because her kids (from her marriage to Ken “Babyface” Edmonds) think he’s a total a**hole.

Can’t say as I disagree, Eddie seems like a major douche.

Seriously, I have milk in my fridge with a longer shelf life than these Hollywood marriages.

I had an epiphany of sorts this week. A strange mixture of revulsion and pity swept over me as I pictured Britney in her hyper-sexualized, manic-driven, deranged state complying with her new “boyfriend” Adnan Ghalib’s sexual advances.

As far as I am concerned, Britney is INCAPABLE of making rational, sane and healthy decisions about her life right now. This is not to say she isn’t manipulating the media, behaving in a willfully bratty and selfish way, but those random acts of defiance should not be confused with the sanity the rest of us count on to make appropriate decisions about our lives.

My assertion is Britney is being sexually abused by anyone who chooses to engage in relations with her at this time, this ESPECIALLY includes her new boyfriend - who I will take a step further and state, if Adnan IS in fact engaging in intercourse with Britney, it is NOT consensual and could qualify as rape.

I realize this is a strong statement, but please allow me to explain.

But wait, there’s more…

As we reported earlier this week, Britney’s facing some serious issues in regards to her custody arrangements for her two children.

Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline took advantage of Britney’s infamous meltdown over a week ago, and asked for an emergency hearing to get full custody of his and Britney’s kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James while Britney was still in the hospital. The judge agreed with his request and gave him full, but temporary custody, until a hearing scheduled for Monday, January 14.

That’s just two days away. What has Britney done in the interim to prove she is capable of caring for her two young children?

Sadly, nothing good. In fact, it seems Britney has gone even further off the rails than she was BEFORE her all too brief hospital stay. Since her departure from Cedars last Saturday, Britney has been in almost constant company of her new boyfriend/opportunist Adnan Ghalib.

Britney and Adnan met up in Palm Springs on Sunday for a brief stay at a hotel, flew to Mexico Wednesday (after planting false reports she was heading to NYC) and stayed with Adnan until their return Thursday and has since been sighted all over LA oscillating between her new manager Osama “Sam” Lufti and Adnan. Neither of which, are the most morally upstanding people on the planet.

Adnan is a native of Afghanistan whose family moved to the UK in the late 70’s. According to the Daily Mail, he’s married, but separated from his wife, Azlynn Berry for the last year and made the bold prediction he would go from stalking Britney to bedding her. A prediction sadly, which has come true.

The most disturbing aspect of their relationship, besides Britney being mentally ill and his statement above, is the conflict of interest between him being a celeb photographer, and Britney being the world’s most hounded celeb. And fears of Adnan taking advantage of this relationship have already come to fruition, as reports have surfaced he and his agency Finalpixx, have attempted to sell sordid and tawdry pics of Britney for profit.

In spite of knowing this about Adnan, Britney continues to maintain a relationship with him and actively chooses to be in his company. One can only imagine the mental state a person has to be in to continue to stay in such an abusive and exploitive situation. Britney is clearly incapable of making rational and sane decisions about her life, and Adnan is a complete monster for taking advantage of this sick and unstable woman.

It is highly unlikely Britney will regain any sort of custody of her children in the wake of her hostage standoff with police during the hearing scheduled Monday. Especially since Kevin Federline was successful in getting a restraining order against Britney and her behavior is almost certainly going to work against her.

TMZ is reporting sources close to Britney are warning her she must show up for the emergency custody hearing tomorrow and answer questions related to the events which took place Jan.3 at her home. From TMZ’s article:

Sources tell us Brit’s lawyers know Commissioner Scott Gordon expects Britney to address a number of issues surrounding the craziness at her home a week ago Thursday. In particular, commissioner Gordon wants Brit to explain why she violated the custody order by not turning the kids over to K-Fed’s security guard at 7:00 that evening. The commissioner is also keenly interested in Britney’s behavior that caused her to be placed on a 5150 hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Britney’s lawyers know if she does not attend tomorrow’s hearing, the Commish almost certainly will extend the ban on visitation until the April trial.

The wild card, of course, is Britney herself. She hates appearing in court and it’s certainly possibly she’ll be a no show on Monday

Britney a wild card? That’s a gross understatement. Britney’s more like a enigma, wrapped in riddle, shrouded in a mystery. There is absolutely no way of predicting what she will do. I expect she won’t show, and if she does she will be on no use to herself or her case for custody. In reality, it will likely not matter if she shows.

Any decent judge will NOT grant her any sort of custody at this time and will likely impose some fairly strict rules about what she must do to regain even partial custody of her two sons. In turn, Britney will likely reject these rules, do something rash like try to see her kids against court orders, be picked up for the “5150″ hold her parents have threatened to use and have her committed against her will.

Or she will do the unthinkable and hurt herself in a way that will require immediate intervention — we can only pray that’s the end result — because we all know what we are afraid to say. Britney is on a fast track to Anna Nicoleville. And honestly that would be a truly terrible and horrific tragedy.

As of this posting, Britney is still maintaining a very tight relationship with a person who has nothing but nefarious intentions for her. In a perfect world, that would be enough cause for an intervention on her behalf, but we do not live in a perfect world and that’s too bad for Britney.

Photographer Dani Brubaker sold candid shots of Britney and her sons Sean and Jayden to OK! magazine, while at the same time providing these tidbits of information about the troubled pop star:

“She was very loving,” Brubaker recalls. “She told me she loved her children and that they are her life.” And far from being the neglectful parent some would portray her as, the photographer tells OK! that Brit was “very attentive” to the needs of her sons.

As for the 26-year-old singer’s reaction to the shots of her with her sons, Brubaker reveals, “I’m told that when she saw the photographs she literally cried for over an hour and stared at them all night long.”

And a “friend” of Britney’s (notice how these “friends” always have such big mouths?) reveals these details about how Britney feels about her boys, fame, and just why she does what she does:

So if merely looking at photos of her children has Britney in tears, that would explain why, according to a friend of the singer, the young mom is “inconsolable” right now as the chance of her winning the custody battle for her children looks increasingly slim. “Those boys are her everything, and she’s said repeatedly that life isn’t worth living if she can’t have her babies with her,” says the friend.

The friend adds that Britney would say goodbye to the music business to look after her boys. “The only reason she’s doing this is because she wants them to look up to her onstage and be like, ‘That’s my mama,’ and be proud of her. She’d put her life before them and die for Jayden and Preston. They’re her whole world.”

Reveals the friend, ““Britney has always said, ‘I would die for my boys if that’s what it took to prove I loved them. I’d do anything for them.’ ”

Well, that’s all puppies and sunshine and striped candy, but let’s not be so melodramatic, shall we?  Nobody is asking you to die for your boys, Brit.  You should be more worried about living for them.

But wait, there’s more…

I don’t know who this Shauna Sands person is, but I saw this grim picture of a *mom* with her daughters out in public dressed like a hooker.

I have kids, I know it’s shocking, and I can tell you my oldest (and youngest for that matter) would NEVER let me out of the house dressed like a cheap prostitute. Both are under eight years of age and even in their youthful immaturity they would be able to recognize an absolutely embarrassing ensemble like this Shauna Sands person is wearing.

TMZ says she’s a Playgirl model. Is that a euphemism for “whore,” ‘cuz if it is, that’s a new one to me.

Gawd woman, dress like a decent human being when you are out with your kids. What kind of lecherous old pervs are you hoping to attract? Those shoes scream “I dance on tabletops for a living and let sweaty, lonely men put dollars in my panties.”

I’m almost ashamed to say that the last music video I watched was Brit’s Gimme More, and that was for research for this site.  But even I know that it takes a while to film a video, at least a couple of days.  Lots of things involved, from hair and makeup to setting up shots to lighting and sound.  But Brit, bless her little cotton-pickin’ heart, is going to attempt to shoot her video in two hours.  That’s right:

Usmagazine.com has learned that production on the video for her single “Piece of Me” is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Social Hollywood. A source tells Us that the video will be directed by Wayne Isham, who helmed the video for the 2002 Brit hit, “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.”

The source says that in the video, Brit and her dancers enter a club in matching wigs and trench coats in order to sneak Spears in. Once in the club and without her disguise, the pop star is followed by the paparazzi regardless.

A set source tells Us that since Spears, 25, has a scheduled visit with sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, on Tuesday, she will only be available to film for two hours, between noon and 2 p.m. During that time she will shoot scenes where she dances on a bar and runs down a staircase. There will be 15 extras, as well as a body double for Brit.

Dances on a bar?  Runs down a staircase?  Sounds thrilling.

Okay, here’s my question.  I understand that she has scheduled visitation time, and it’s great that she’s honoring those visits.  But couldn’t they have picked a different time, a different day, to shoot this thing?  I know that directors have schedules and crews have schedules, but Brit is supposed to be the star of the thing, couldn’t they have worked around her schedule a bit more?  Of course, the shoot does start at 8AM, not noon, so Brit could get up early and go…oh wait, I forgot who I was talking about.  Never mind.

Let’s think about this, though…with Britney out of the picture (figuratively and literally) for most of the shoot, this could turn out to be the best video she’s made in years.  Brit’s body double will undoubtedly see more screen time than Brit will, and that could turn out to be a good thing.  But maybe Brit will decide that she can leave the boys in the car with the court-appointed monitor and finish her shots.

So can you make a video without the star?  Is Brit ‘there’, even when she’s there?  Is she even attempting to put forth any effort to promote this album?

A possible solution could be that the film crew just follows her around for a few nights like the paps do, and I’m sure they’d get all the footage they need.

Absolutely.  We can totally believe Pete, because he’s such a paragon of virtue and wholesome living.  He always tells the truth and is a completely trustworthy individual:

However many and varied her demons, it emerged last night that Winehouse, 24, has at least one invaluable ally in her battle against substance abuse: Pete Doherty, a man who has been there and back again, several times.

Doherty, 28, said he and Winehouse were helping each other fight drugs.

He also said that she has been clean since her husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, was arrested and remanded in custody on charges of GBH and perverting the course of justice.

Doherty said: “I speak to Amy almost every day. She just wants her man back for Christmas. They are desperately in love.

“One good thing is that Blake has got clean since he has been in prison. It’s been quite an awakening. Amy stopped doing everything since he went in. She realises how much they have to lose. They are going to lose each other if it carries on. Love, music and melody is the way forward.”

How touching.  I can practically see the rainbows and lollipops dancing around his head as he says that.  Oh, and then a little dancing leprechaun comes out and hands out cereal.

Here we see clean and sober Amy at her sell-out concert at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.  I’m sure that’s just a zit in her nose.  Darn things always pop up at the most inopportune times!
