Angelina Ballerina is nothing if not versatile. She can sing and dance, and her taste in music is eclectic. On the June 7, 2011, release Angelina Ballerina: Pop Star Girls, Angelina discovers that “she loves Hip Hop, rock bands, fiddles and more!” For those who don’t know, Angelina Ballerina is a mouseling who was born to be a star. With her friends standing by, Angelina directs a Hip Hop musical. Of course the Pop Star Girls are part of the show, and all the dancers must learn to work together.
There are five episodes included on Angelina Ballerina: Pop Star Girls: “Angelina’s Crazy Solo,” “Angelina’s Rock Band,” “Angelina’s Hip Hop Boys Show,” “Angelina and the Giant,” and “Angelina and the Broken Fiddle.” The DVD also features a bonus, “Dancing Star” memory game. Angelina Ballerina: Pop Star Girls is recommended for ages two through seven, although adults may want to join the fun, and is available on DVD, video on demand, and as a digital download. Visit Angelina’s website and print-out door hangers or play games with Angelina and friends.
June 7 also marks the release of Roary the Racing Car’s debut DVD (also available as VOD and digital), the eponymously titled Roary the Racing Car. Roary is a hit with the preschool set (recommended for ages 2-5), and it’s easy to see why with all the bright colors, fast action, and relevant storylines. Who wouldn’t want a front row ticket to Silver Hatch Racetrack?
Roary helps kids with lessons on doing the right thing, staying positive, helping others, staying safe, problem solving, and friendship in episodes that have not been seen on television--they support social skills and responsibility. A birthday party and a babysitting engagement are just two of the events happening at the racetrack. The six episodes on Roary the Racing Car are “Stars and Cars,” “Rusty Takes a Trip,” “Big Chris Babysits,” “Roary Gets It Wrong,” “Computer Calamity,” and “Big Chris Forgets.” The DVD also includes a music video bonus, “Roary’s Day at the Seaside.” (For on-line entertainment, kids can visit Roary’s website and play “Roary’s Bumper Car Challenge” and “Race with Roary”.)
