Some celebrities have to work for years to garner the kind of media attention that takes them from obscurity to stardom. Just read singer/songwriter Jewel's sad tale of torment on her road to fame if you want a gritty look from the inside.

It can take years of working in coffee shops, busking in subways, doing plays off, off, off Broadway, or making cringe-worthy low budget films before a performer gets their lucky break. But, hey you have to earn your stripes if you want to make in LaLa land.  Well, unless of course, you are one of these lucky women:

Michelle McGeeMichelle "Bombshell" McGee, the tatted home-wrecker who seduced Sandra Bullock's hubby, reality star and biker Jesse James.

Michelle, left her small-town roots of Eastlake, Cleveland for the big lights of Hollywood. Though she claims to be 24 (she's 32) and claims to have been raised Amish (so not true) and CLAIMS to have not known Sandra and Jesse were together (VERY much not true), what is true, is she used James' known weakness for tatted, promiscuous women of questionable values, to her advantage.  Current worth: $30,000 and counting. Even now, she has managed to parlay the public's fascination with sex scandals of the stars into a tangible asset.  The Tattoo Review Magazine where she is featured on the cover is in high demand. The publisher of the mag, Casey Exton, said "This story is the biggest thing that ever happened to the tattoo industry."  Apparently, without a hint of irony.

Rielle HunterRielle Hunter, political temptress and the ruin of one promising senator's rise to the White House.

Hunter had already led a pretty wild life before she used the line "You're so hot," on Senator John Edwards outside of a hotel.  According to reports the two were doing to the Beltway Bongo within an hour of meeting, proof that men of wealth and power have almost zero insight into the wily ways of the famewhore. Rielle, was able to finagle a $100,000 payday gig out of her affair with Edwards by securing a job as his campaign videographer.  But the payout didn't end there. Hunter upped her game by securing the golden ticket and got pregnant with Edward's child.  Sure it took him being exposed by the National Enquirer (who are now in the running for a Pulitzer, congrats), destroying his political career and embarrassing and hurting his cancer-stricken wife, to admit it, but hey, we all come clean eventually. Now, Hunter will be collecting a paycheck for life, pretty sweet deal for a few minutes work.
