Britney May Settle Hit And Run Case
Maybe she's getting tired of old farts.
It's being reported that Britney may settle her hit and run case, where she hit a parked car and then got out for some retail therapy:
Recent reports claimed Spears was going to blame paparazzi for the incident. But the source tells Us Spears plans to pay the victim restitution. Her misdemeanor count of hit-and-run may be dismissed, the source said.Spears also could lose the misdemeanor count of driving without a valid California driver's license. The source said Spears' attorney, Michael Flanagan, plans to present documents proving Spears now has a valid license, which may reduce the count to a citation.
I'm not sure I get it. If she was driving without a valid license at the time of the accident, how can they then reduce the charge to a citation? I know she has one now, but she didn't have one then.
This comes on the heels of a report which says Britney was overheard complaining that the judge in her case was an "old fart", and also after the ruling today which took away Britney's visitation rights with her sons because of noncompliance with the random drug test policy. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for October 26.
This may actually be a smart decision on her part. There is film of the incident, it was obviously her fault, she was driving with her dog on her lap and no seat belt on. Plus, it's mighty handy to blame the paps when it's convenient for her to do so, but in other cases she's more than happy to utilize their services, such as for pumping gas and buying her fast food.
Now she can focus on the really important things, like....um.....okay, she can go to Starbucks.
