Credit Crunch? Lil' Wayne Doesn't Know What You're Talking About
One gets the feeling that words and phrases such as "economize" and "credit crunch" and "coupon-cutting" and "saving money" and "financial responsibility" and "economic disaster" sound like Charlie Brown's teacher to rapper Lil' Wayne's ears.
When his birthday rolls around, just what does one get the overhyped, overpaid, over-the-top rapper who has everything?
While few would disagree he already had quite a sizable bank account already, the musician was left lost for words when his mentor, rapper/producer Birdman gave him a $2,140 Louis Vuitton briefcase full of $100 bills.Lil' Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, accepted the generous gift at a money-themed party at trendy Miami nightclub Mansion.
Worries about the current state of America's finances seemed a distant memory as guests arrived at the bash to see an ice sculpture full of frozen $100 bills and other sculptures including 30 bottles of Cristal champagne.
One party guest said: 'Lil Wayne was left speechless.
'He was almost in tears when he hugged his friend. I mean, who wouldn't like $1 million as a birthday gift?'
The gift wasn't only for the rapper's birthday, but also a thank you for re-signing with Birdman's record label Cash Money Records.
Yeah. Remember that the next time you buy one of his CDs. In Dwayne's defense, however, money woes seem to be hitting even him, since it seems whoever was in charge of refreshments couldn't afford anything more than Styrofoam cups. I know, I know...but Dwayne has an image to uphold now as the owner of a suitcase full of money. Give until it hurts, homeboy needs some crystal!
