Hulk Hogan: I Tried To Warn Them, Brutha - Page 2
"We saw the Ashlee Simpson show and Jessica Simpson’s and Lindsay Lohan on the big screen and we just didn’t haven’t a vehicle to compete,†he said. “But I considered it, because this time it was about the Hogan family rather than Hulk Hogan; they all wanted to do it and I tried to warn them about what they were in for. Now look what happened.â€
So, apparently, these sorts of shows really aren't good for you to star in:
“The constant attention, adulation and power can easily become addictive and overpowering and can lead to narcissism," Wanis said. "The rush of the fame and power can prevent someone from stopping and thinking about the possible consequences of one’s actions.â€
Wow, that's a lot to digest, so let's review:Â Brooke is taking it hard that her brother is in jail and her dad is an adulterer, Terry is great at pwning the media, reality shows are fakery shows and not good for you, the Hogans just wanted to get the careers of their kids jump started, and it really isn't the fault of the parents that the kids have turned out to be self-centered brats without an idea of the consequences of their actions or a way to reason out just how things got so screwed up in the first place.

Look, I'm not entirely heartless. If you recall, I was one of the few celeb (or mainstream) bloggers who wrote a balanced piece about Nick after his sentencing. But Terry's refusal to take responsibility for his own actions and the effect that they had on his children is nothing short of astounding. For him to come out now and effectively say, "Hey, I tried to say no, but what are you gonna do? They said yes, so I had to give in, and now look at the mess. All because of the show." Whatevs, Hulkster.
You see, parents today have lost a very important concept that used to be second nature...that parents are the parents, and children are the children. Too many children are driving the bus and too many parents are content to step aside and let them take the wheel. If Hulk was really that worried about the effect the show might have on his family, he should have done what parents from time immemorial have done...exercised their right to say NO. And Linda should have backed him up in that, although I have a feeling she was as much for the show as the kids were.
