Kanye West: I Am The Voice Of My Generation
You know, when I got up this morning, the first thought on my mind was not, "Wow, I really have to pee," or, "Gee, it's cold in here," or even, "Where's my Pop-Tart? Did one of you stupid kids eat my Pop-Tart?" No, the first thing on my mind was, "I don't feel that I am being adequately represented with someone who is my voice for my generation."
But then, like an angel from the Heavenlies, comes the voice of an archangel, otherwise known as Kanye West, to make sure that my generation's voice echoes throughout the ages of time:
Kanye West says he has cemented his place in history as the "voice of this generation".The Stronger hitmaker - who has never been one for modesty - believes he is the greatest rapper of all time.
He says, "I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice.
"It's me settling into that position of just really accepting that it's one thing to say you want to do it, and it's another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan.
"There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums. And it just came out to be that."
So, in one breath he simultaneously disses both Michael Jordan and Justin Timberlake, proclaims himself the greatest rapper of all time, and says he is our voice. Could someone please order some self-esteem classes for Mr. West, because obviously he has a poor self-image.
I sat here and tried to think of just what Kanye has done to make this dubious claim...I tried and tried to think of just what it is that he has said that is so profound that it literally cements his place in history. This is the best I could come up with:
Thanks for being my voice, Kanye. I'm going back to bed now.
