Lindsay Lohan: I Know Who Broke Me...Me!
Apparently Lindsay has never heard of cutting coupons. A recent article reports that she has blown through her money and is pretty much broke:
In recent months the wayward actress has squandered a staggering SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS on her wild partying. [...] Her extravagant spending spree includes:According to Unnamed Source, when Lindsay was living at the tony Chateau Marmont last year, she ran up a bill totalling over $450,000 on her suite, which cost $1,200 a night. She spent over a million dollars on 24-hour chauffeur service (at least she was smart enough to have one, unlike some poptards we know) and Christal champagne. However, her unpaid bills ran too high and she was kicked out. Her three rehab stints cost $30,000, $45,000, and $62,000, for a grand total of $137,000 in rehab bills alone. She's spent $350,000 on luxury cars such as a Mercedes and a BMW, $1 million on clothing, $700,000 on tanning (to get that iridescent orange glow) and $500,000 on partying. She's dropped a huge load on lawyers. And even she's lost count of how much of it went up her nose. She's had to sell off her two apartments, one in LA worth $2.5 million and one in New York worth $1 million, because she could not keep up with the huge mortgages. But apparently she still can drop a few thousand dollars on a night of partying and not blink an eye. The unnamed "source" also says this about her stints in rehab:A MILLION dollars on just one hotel bill $137,000 in rehab costs as she battles her hopeless addiction to drink and drugs THOUSANDS more in legal fees after multiple drink driving convictions. We can reveal that after jetting back to Los Angeles this week following her two-month stay at the Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab clinic, Lohan is staying in the guest house of billionaire Tom Gores, executive producer on her recent film I Know Who Killed Me.
The source added: "Rehab does not come cheap and Lindsay has spent a fortune on it this year. "Her first two stays there sadly proved a complete waste of money for her. "And I can't see this time being any different."Now, I have a bit of a problem with this whole story. This "unnamed source" seems to have a bit of a bone to pick with Lindsay. Her first two stays in rehab did seem to be a complete waste of time. They did not seem to be taking her program seriously. She was spotted shopping and having fun when she should have been at the center. At least with her latest one, she seems to be taking it as seriously as they are. She stayed longer than the allotted time, has been participating in outpatient programs, and is even reportedly looking for a home in the area to relocate to. So my opinion on that is the previous two McRehabs have as much to blame as Lindsay for her relapses. And for this so-called source to say that this time is not any different, smacks of sour grapes to me. It flies in the face of all that we've heard thus far about Lindsay from her parents, particularly her father, who has been glowing in his praise of Lindsay and her actions in taking responsibility for her own recovery and continual fight against addiction. Plus, if she really has gone through much of her money and is in danger of being too far in debt, why wouldn't she go back to work to earn money to pay her bills? Lindsay owes money, so Lindsay goes to work in the only real profession she knows to make money. Isn't that what one would do in the "real world"? The only two things that concern me are that every time we see Lindsay lately, she has a shopping bag in her hand, and she has reportedly been going out to restaurants that serve alcohol, although she has not been drinking. But I realize that you can't get away from that sort of temptation anywhere you go, and if I had been in rehab that long I might celebrate with a mall crawl too. I personally think this is one of Lindsay's former entourage, who is bitter at being cut out of her life and who is mad that their free ride is now over. I do think Lindsay has gone through a huge amount of her own money, and she may indeed be in dire financial straits. But I also think that Lindsay is a smart, talented, driven young woman, and she can turn this around. It's easier to make ends meet when you're not funding your drug habit (and the habits of yourÂ
