Technorati.com Acquires Online Magazine Blogcritics.org
Major site news for you here. Today it was officially announced that Technorati.com has purchased Glosslip's parent company, Blogcritics.org, which includes Glosslip.com. We couldn't be more thrilled. Since launching this site back in January of 2006, my goal as publisher of this site was to augment the already incredible writing that goes on at Blogcritics.org. While Glosslip is a more "bloggy" style of writing, anyone who surfs the web, or reads blogs, knows how popular celebrity gossip is.
Though I started this site as the sole writer, Glosslip didn't really take off until I wisely convinced "k" the other (and lately main) writer of this site to join me. Since that brilliant move on my part, Glosslip, a proud Google News site and network site of Blogcritics.org has carved a niche for itself in the growing world of celeb blogs. While there are more gossip sites than you can shake a stick at, both "k" and I strive to present well-crafted, highly thought out articles on today's most popular celebrity and pop culture stories. "Celebrity news with a conscience" is a phrase which is often used to describe what we do.
We are looking forward to bringing our voices to a broader spectrum of readers through this new partnership and will continue to bring our regular readers the kinds of stories which keep you thinking and interacting with us (which we LOVE btw)!
Here's the official press release on this fantastic merger of two great entities, and a link to the TechCrunch story which leaked earlier today:
