False Teacher, Harold Camping, Repents
It is unquestionable from his claims that Jesus Christ was to return on October 21, 2011 that Harold Camping was a False Teacher, as defined in the Bible. In 1 Timothy 1, Paul wrote to Timothy that he may command certain people not to teach false doctrines. That certain people want to be teachers of the law, but that they don't know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.
Mr. Camping was confidently telling the world that the day and hour was known for Jesus Christs return. Yet in Matthew 24, Jesus said that the day or the hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, but that only God knows.
However, in repenting of his sins against God, Harold Camping has shown us all that God is merciful and perhaps we could all take a lesson from Mr. Camping's actions. Mr. Camping was just an old man, with 90 years of age under his belt, who so desperately wanted to see what he had been preaching come to fruition before his earthly death.
On Sunday, October 30th, Mr. Camping published an audio message, announcing among other things that he falsely taught many things. Acknowledgment of one's wrongs is fundamental to correcting one's past behavior whether you are a follower of Christ or whether you are not.
