A Boulder ice hockey coach has turned himself into police on charges he sexually exploited teen athletes over the Internet, said Kim Kobel of the police department.

She told the Boulder Daily Camera that Zachary Thomas Meints, 23, was being held without bond. She said police were attempting to determine whether there was physical contact in any of the cases.

Police learned of his alleged activities with the private Boulder Hockey at the end of September, before the Penn State football scandal.

Thirteen witnesses and/or victims have been questioned, and it is possible there will be more. At least five were 15 or younger, said Kobel. "We do believe there are more victims, she added.

Authorities have seized his phone and computer under a sealed warrant. Hockey club officials were not immediately available for comment.
