After Apple's "Let's Talk iPhone" event Tuesday October 4th 2011, the internet has been buzzing with the big question...are you impressed with the iPhone 4S or not? It looks like its a 50/50 split for responses, depending on which sites you follow of course. One thing is certain: after the wake the iPhone 4S left behind, Samsung doesn't seem worried, and wants us to look toward something that WILL impress us. Samsung launched a teaser video a few hours after the iPhone 4S event was finished, showing us a few things Samsung has up it's sleeve for their "Unpacked 2011" event in San Diego on October 11th 2011. The video starts with the statement that "In everyday life, some things just go better together". Then we're shown examples of this statement, starting with the combination of cookies and milk. I like to think that was put there as a prelude to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS which the Nexus Prime smartphone is said to be running at launch. The teaser leads us into another statement which reads "Another perfect combination is just around the corner". This leads us to the image seen at the top of this article. I know, it's hard to see exactly what it is, besides a smartphone.
A reader of Phandroid did a little 'photoshop' enhancement on the image seen in the video, and turns up what you see directly above. Clearly the device under the line is a smartphone, with what looks to be dock connectors on the same side as the Power button. That is a rarity for smartphones. Unless of course the dock has it's own power button, say on a tablet. Could this be the "perfect combination" spoken of in the teaser video? The Nexus Prime docking with a tablet? It's far fetched, but possible. The Nexus Prime in the image looks to be sporting the same curved glass front as the Nexus S as well as reportedly installed with the latest version of Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich. Ice Cream Sandwich has been stated by Google as being the first OS to combine the features of Gingerbread with the features of Honeycomb. Here we have again, another "perfect combination". Have a look at the video below, and let us know what you think is going to be unveiled at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011 event next Tuesday.
Do you think this will be more impressive than the Apple iPhone 4S announcement? Samsung thinks so, and I have to admit, my interest is piqued as well. 'Siri, define Samsung Nexus Prime' Sources - Phandroid, Droiddog, youtube, BGR
